Hmmm....would I be happy if the bloke who came to fix my toilet believed that the Prophet Muhammad's successors should be decided on a hereditary basis? Luckily all the plumbers in the UAE are South Indian so I'll never have to worry.
Joking aside, I think I'd prefer politicians who were committed to ending Crony Capitalism in the UK than getting involved in disputes that have nothing to do with them.
Thursday: Fernando Alonso in Vegas "It will be difficult but this is a tough sport, this is not football"
Friday: F1 in Vegas "Yeah guys we've been beaten by a manhole cover even though we've been doing this for decades and spending money at eye watering rates, anyone know a plumber?"
Brock Purdy - who was literally the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft - just threw a perfect game, the first by a 49ers player in 34 years. The NFL has its flaws, but the draft system can be a beautiful thing.
Basically, quarterbacks get a passer rating for every game. I can't remember the exact criteria, but it's very rare that one gets a perfect rating (which is a ridiculously specific 158.3).
Some ludicrous PL and UEFA decisions today around multi club ownership.
Two teams part of the same ownership group can play against eachother in Europe as long as they sign a bit of paper and say they'll play along fairly, and no officer I didn't expect any influence over that club that I just gave several million pounds to.
Clubs in the same ownership group can also loan eachother players so presumably Newcastle can now take Ruben Neves on loan cheaply and avoid FFP because it wasn't exactly them who just paid Wolves £50m for him, it was another totally different entity (with common ownership)that did that and suddenly they have no need for him anymore.
Loans between clubs in the same family ownership have been going on for years. You have for instance Notts Forest and Olympiakos, Watford and Udinese, West Ham and Sparta Prague etc
The Watford one being hilarious , they sold a player for £16m to another club in the group and then loaned him back the next day. You can't have stuff like that going on and have any claim to be serious about FFP

I think this four PMs presiding over an increasing fractious and regressive administration lark will catch on...my letter of no confidence is in.

Do you not see the irony in your comments...from the UAE?
I was making a Sunni-Shia joke so dense that even I don't get it.
I got that.
It's the 'criticising capitalism whilst living in the UAE' stuff I don't get.
I suspect you've been on an all day brunch watching the cricket
After a corporate day at the golf
I'm back in the UK watching the future Euro24 winners being held to a draw by Norway
3-2!!!!!!
Oioi
If I know Scottish football supporters (and I do), the excited chatter will be about 'coefficients'
Normally. But this game is all about Pot 2 or Pot 3

What does “threw the perfect game” even mean?
It was the perfect game and they were winning until he made a mistake and they threw it all away and lost?
The English language is a cruel mistress.
Not surprising. She gets plenty of abuse, not least from across the pond. Pond !!
Compared to the specific (sic) ocean it is rather like a pond.
And going back to the Specific. We hardly help ourselves sometimes 😉
edit: also, isn’t it ironic we use Latin to show when English is purposefully or deliberately spelt incorrectly.

Tbh when it comes from American sports and statistics, baseball and RBI just haven’t ever been worth wondering about.
Player X as a random below 1 rating that I have zero frame of reference for? Okey-dokey then. Good for him.
Made moneyball difficult to care about.
I didn't enjoy Moneyball at all

The Saudis gave us the oil shock in the 1970's and now they are going to give us the football shock. In some ways more devastating.
Now, the first two are the same, 300 a gram. These are friend prices.

Not sure if this has been mentioned. Good luck to this group, walking through Friday night to the game, for Men's Mental Health.

Ah the truly wonderful Slow Horses is back for a third season - what a treat
I got excited about that this morning too. Fantastic show.
A gem amongst so much dross...
To be fair "A Murder at the End of the World" is not bad either.
Havent started to watch yet but hoping the latest season of "Fargo" is as good as the earlier ones.
Fantastic news. That’s for the reminder.
