I think it's fair to say our transfer activity hasn't stacked up with Rob's pledge to make the squad even stronger than it was last season. I don't think it necessarily needed to be in order to mount a play-off push, but - again - his apparent inability to keep it zipped has caused quite a lot of frustration among fans. As I've said before, we can all make up our own minds about where we think the team should be challenging, and I'll accept a season of consolidation - but I totally understand why a lot of people aren't very happy this morning. We're still short up front, at left-back and in goal.
Interesting that Howard was at AP yesterday (appeared in the Ballroom Bill bbc b’fast tribute). Did he pop down for the cameras or was he there for prospective last day contract negotiations? Guess we’ll never know and as some would have it why should we.
Max looks excellent, but TD is evidently not up to the level and would surely benefit more from another loan. I'm not expecting a Stocko-Allsop 1-2 situation - that was very unusual - but I'm sure a better quality no2 would have been attainable. At the moment, we effectively have our no1 backed up by two youth 'keepers.
I think we might be pleasantly surprised by how good Josh Blunkell is. He looks physically more solid for a start. Hope to see him in action in the EFL Trophy.
totally agree and not sure why this got thumbs down by some posters , Robs comments were unneeded and would frustrate fans when what he promised he failed to deliver , not sure what works he lives in if he thinks this squad is better than Last season...
There is still the option of free agents, I’m sceptical that such players are still floating about of the right quality, but the signing of McCleary proved that anything is possible.
It's about the right (Wycombe) mentality as well as quality, so the door having closed, there may well be a little gem out there. We're quite good at spotting them.
I would assume that our attacking options are not too far away from returning as we did not push the boat out to make any replacement signings in that department. What good news
I admit I've only been coming for about 15 years...when was the last time Wycombe had an Allsopp Stockdale situation...with two quality goalkeepers? I was under the impression that was an exception rather than the norm?

Nope. Loan window is the same as the transfer window.
We could sign an unregistered player or an academy/scholar or sign a player if registered for a team which goes bust.
If there was a last second signing... would they announce it at 11pm-midnight or would they announce it the following day though?
Well done Gareth and Rob , autos are guaranteed
Morning all. What did I miss?
we are going for the autos
The Taff rumours coming to nothing, again.
'There are thousands who tell you it cannot be done'
Something going on with these Taff's rumours. Someone must have an agenda
in GA and Rob we trust
I reckon these rumours are started by someone in Revs just to try and get more people to visit!

Rumours started by terrace dwelling individuals with nothing better to do and repeated by football forum members.
Oh hang on I fit that description...
When was the last time we had experienced cover in every position when the window closed?
A lot of people aren't very happy a lot of the time.
Some posters on here are unhappy even when we are winning and they have been 'proved wrong' as they had hoped.
🙂 Go figure.
Deadpool and his mate once said: 'If there is a route for Wrexham to make the Premier League, why would we not go for it?'
Imagine what their equivalent of WanderersQuartermans8280 was posting when they failed to win the National League semi-final against Grimsby??
Also, is Andrew Howard still at the club? His name isn't on the staff list on the website. Or was/is he only working in a consultancy capacity?

He does only live up the road, to be fair!
Trust that’s an ironic thumbs up.
I agree with you on the other two positions but short in goal? Tyla is fine as a backup and the other guy is number 3. Max looks good.

did not think we could make any signings ? GA illudeded that could. be a suprise signing on its way ?!

GA was on the radio this morning (about 2hr 10 in), sounds like something was possible but fell through

Prob Taff himself trying to drum up some interest.
Probably just bullsh1t spread because people have no facts

Didn't we have Blackman and Brown at the same time?
