The silly quip to @Ed_ was Ta-ta (goodbye) for now - a colloquialism which came into prominence amongst service personnel during World War 2 (when I were a wee lad).
Can’t say I’ve ever been very impressed by Brown. Over-rated in my view and unlikely to be very cheap. I’d rather give the first team chances to Mehmeti.
Have to worry a bit about once highly rated youth players who don't really impress out on loan or just sit in the reserves for decades.
Chelsea and others are happy , they get to say they are doing some community work, have one or two really good players emerge for them and England, and pay for the scheme, but probably also lay waste to an entire generation of prospects who would have been stolen from other systems at early ages and might have progressed better there with genuine chances to play. Not that it's an exact science.

I had to ask about that one not so long ago too. It's the grammatically incorrect "they all come round in the end".
edit: It should, of course, be "they all come around in the end", unless the they in question have been unconscious.
Scott Brown gone to Exeter from Port Vale on a free transfer.
To be goalkeeping coach apparently. But also being named as a registered player to step up if they need him as cover.

Tantalising taste of film noire?
Dear oh feckin lor’. Quite right @peterparrotface. My silly quip warranted that response.
I see what I (you) did there.

I sent that to its originator shortly after we beat Oxford on July 13th last year (I'm not sure I abbreviated it)
All that needed to be said, and seemed to sum up what had just happened perfectly
What was the reply? "YCMIU"? "EICRITE"?

Out of order I thought
@eric_plant Very good.
Izzy Brown released by Chelsea. Would he come to League One? Could be the answer to our midfield conundrum.
@thecatwwfc stop trying to return the thread to it's point
Which conundrum would that solve? Izzy Brown is a number 10 or a wide forward, and he's too good for League One in any case.

Isn't that our sweet spot? Picking up released players and giving them a chance to fall back in love with the game to make the most of their talent?
Randall Williams gone to Hull

Should obviously have said Randell Williams
Bloody fat fingers
Good luck to him. He seems a real good lad.
I'm guessing summer has been so quiet so far because all the players we're after are busy at the Euros.

POised? I've got a mental image of him waiting for VAR to give him the pen.
