Gasroom should start it's own political party.... would have the country sorted in no time

Or even it's own category, so I don't have to scroll through 56 messages to find 3 about the thread subject matter.

  • One point I think a lot are missing is that the main reason we've been isolating is to prevent a surge in cases rather than to stop everyone getting it over time. Even if we have had more cases than other countries, our strategies have been based on the UK NHS capacity.

It is curious that the Gasroom politics /age demographic compared to other fans is almost a direct opposite to society.

Generally the older generation are more likely to be on the right, but the gasroom is like a socialist utopia compared to the views of the yoof

  • Just to finish off the politics for the day.
Suggested time for when employees should return to work - pushed back to Wednesday
Date guidance due to come out for employers to make workplaces safe - at best Thursday

    Utter fecking incompetence.

The most vociferous give that impression, but I wonder what an anonymous poll would actually show the split as.
    One for another day!

PMs and leaders of the opposition compete in the ‘FFS was this the best on offer?’ cup.

Something for the workers to read when they are standing in bemused queues for buses/tubes/trains

Not sure you can "stay alert" whilst reading in a queue!

  • How alert do you have to be to be able to spot a virus?

  • Just a quick one back on ppg, one guy on Oxford's site reckons any vote will go their way as league one teams won't want to face their incredible might next year!

Right up there with the guy who mentioned our "non league" stadium!
Self awareness not their strong point.

  • Surely by now Oxford fans should realize there are three sides to every story.

  • I think the football authorities are over thinking this whole thing . They just need to make a vague but tubthumping statement about integrity and passion in front of a new slogan 'Watch safely' or 'Take care a ball might hit you' which leaves every club able to interpret it as they see fit. Then if it all goes swimmingly it shows great leadership and if it all goes tits up they can say 'if you read or heard the statement you will see we never suggested you do that!' I'll take my usual fee. People have to bring politics into everything.

  • Where are they quarantining the idiots who dont plan their journey to the uk via france or ireland?

  • On the plane .... wouldnt want to use that toilet in the second week !

  • Some strong words from Danny Rose this morning.

Also reports that the broadcasting companies would still ask for a significant rebate from the premier league clubs if games are played behind closed doors at neutral venues as it's not the same product. Clubs are going back to the govt to apply pressure to be able to play at home, unbelievable

  • I imagine the football league will have to repay a similar rebate to Sky for games not played this season (and next). Although of course it will be much smaller.

We'd go up if they did it on weeks spent top...

    1st - Ipswich (15)
    2nd - Wycombe (9)
    3rd - Rotherham (7)
    4th - Coventry (2)
    = 5th - Lincoln, Blackpool, Fleetwood (1)

Are they meeting today do you know? Do we expect any sort of imminent verdict?

Prem will lead as you can't promote teams if they won't take them.

They can't possibly deny promotees. It's whether they can work out how to relegate teams that's the question.

Is it fixed that they have to allow 3 and give back 3? and can't they bung some already promised cash at it if they decide not too?

  • No idea when the meeting is, sorry!

I noticed that Dale Vince is still hopeful we'll finish the season on the pitch, but then he is an outlier among owners.

  • It's really come to something if Laura Kuenssberg's BBC has turned on them. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-52623141

  • Farcical.

Odd heading too, "play now or risk no football until next year".

    Bizarre logic.
