I would also throw my hat into the ring as someone who would at least think twice about coming to AP if we had Hylton or any other proven racist in our side. Perhaps carries less weight when you're an exile who only makes 10-15 games a season anyway, but when attending an average home game means a 6am start, an 11pm return and between £75-£100 - I'll happily do that for the Matt Bloomfields, Alex Samuels and Gareth Ainsworths of this world, but Danny Hylton?
We've had our fingers burned going for players like Leon Knight, Tom Williams, Dean Morgan and - it turned out - Gavin Grant in the past. I'm so happy Ainsworth's recruitment policy has put a stop to these sorts of 'characters' walking through the Adams Park gates.
Each to their own @lilyrose, but no matter how good a footballer someone is, if they're a despicable human being, I personally don't want to watch them playing for Wycombe Wanderers.
I think we had this debate on here when it was rumoured that GA was interested in DDH. The view of the majority was that we would hate it if he joined, whilst recognising his quality as a footballer, but overshadowed by his perceived qualities as a human being.
That said I guess the vast majority would have still watched and cheered when he scored distasteful as it would have been.
But, he isn’t as someone said a ‘pantomime villain’ in my view. The likes of Ellison and further back McKenna were and didn’t take themselves too seriously but it seems and feels like DDH and further back Roy McDonugh are/were just odious, disrepectful individuals.
I may have mis-judged the strength of feeling on this one, and happy to discover that people do care about this issue and would take action. I'd caution taking this too far as except in cases where the authorities have acted and we have a specific point of reference, there is a danger of setting ourselves in moral judgement. Many footballers are probably no more odious than the bloke on the next step of the terrace.

Oh let's not get onto those @Baldric , or we'll be here all night.

@lilyrose - Are you this cheat's mother?
what a stupid thing to say?
Silly me, I keep forgetting nobody cheats at Wycombe do they.
You started it
how many times is Lily going to say he/she is off, and then carries on
Other way round. We're the only team that ever cheats and we do it all the time, even when we're not. Ask any opposition fan.
One for each finger.
Gawd is this thread still limping on?
