Tomorrow the U18s start off this weekend's fixtures, at home to Watford Ladies in the JPL. After winning their opening game, the Golden Girls have lost their last three, with a 4-3 reverse at Ascot United last week. Kick-off 10:30 with free entry at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
On Sunday the Firsts have a difficult fixture in the SRWFL at leaders Ascot United. The Yellawomen drew 0-0 with Bournemouth Sports in a top of the table clash last Sunday. Kick-off at the later time of 3pm, at The Racecourse Ground , Winkfield Row, Ascot SL5 7LJ.
Also on Sunday the Reserves host Easington Sports in the TVCWFL, aiming to preserve their 100% record. The Clan have four points from three games and have not played for four weeks. KO 2pm at the 1878 Stadium.
One down at half time, Naomi Tilley equalised for the Chairgirls on 77 minutes. An excellent result against the table toppers. The match updates made it clear this was a close game and the Chairgirls deserved at least a point.
That result takes the Chairgirls off the bottom of the table.
Tomorrow the U18s face XL Football at home in the JPL. The Chairgirls drew 2-2 with the Kent side in the league cup in September, and XL have one win and three defeats so far in the league. Kick-off 10:30 at the 1878 Stadium in Burnham.
On Sunday, the Firsts host Oxford City in the league. The Hoops have won two and lost five this season, and narrowly lost 1-0 to the strong Bournemouth Sports last week, but they have had two heavy defeats, 7-0 to Ascot United and 9-1 to Abingdon United, both at home. Kick-off 2pm at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
The Reserves are looking for seven wins out seven as they travel to Ruislip Rangers on Sunday. Rangers have only dropped two points this season and have scored 18 goals in their four games. Kick-off 2pm, venue not published yet.
City went into a 4-0 lead before Katie Riddington pulled one back just before half time. New signing Sophie Attfield, an attacking midfielder from QPR, and Sally Grimm scored after the break.
Yes, that is six-nil, quite a surprise and the Chairgirls lose their 100% record. They are still top and four points clear of Goring, but Ruislip in third have two games in hand and are the only unbeaten team now.
On Sunday, the Firsts travel to Abingdon United in the league. United are second in the table, with a narrow 1-0 win against Winchester last weekend, and a 2-1 defeat at Eastleigh the week before. Kick-off 2pm at Northcourt Road, Abingdon OX14 1PL. Admission 16+ £3, under 16 free, 60+ £1.50. Cash and card.
On the same day, the Reserves are at home to Kingsclere in the league, who lie 8th and lost 3-1 at home to Goring last Sunday. Kick-off 2pm at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
The U18s get back to action in the JPL tomorrow with a home game against Ascot United, who are unbeaten and defeated leaders Millwall last time out. Kick-off off 10:30 at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham.
On Sunday the Firsts are also at home to Ascot United, in the SRWFL. The Chairgirls gained a very good 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture earlier this month, against a team who have only lost once this season. The game kicks off at the earlier time of 1:30 at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham, with WWFC season holders getting in at the reduced rate of £1, instead of the usual £3. U16s are free.
On the same day, the Reserves travel to S4K FC Berks County, who registered their first win last time out with a 3-1 win at Oxford City. Kick-off 2pm at Bracknell Leisure Centre 3G, RG12 9SE.
Ascot completed a combined 12-2 drubbing of the Chairgirls at the weekend, with the U18s result on Saturday, now changed to a 7-1 defeat on the JPL site.
The Firsts were trailing 3-0 at half-time, Sophie Attfield netted for the Chairgirls, the long range shot described as the best goal of the game in the United match report - https://ascotunited.net/five-star-ascot-sink-wanderers/.
The Reserves are now 10 points clear at the top after Shannon Read (2) and Naimh Creighton scored.
This weekend the U18s start the action when they travel to AFC Stoneham tomorrow in the league. The Purps are the current league leaders, they won 8-1 at Notts County last time out, and drew 1-1 with the Chairgirls on the opening day of the season. Kick-off 10:30 at Stoneham Lane Football Complex, Eastleigh SO16 2PA.
On Sunday the Firsts are away to Oxford City, who won 4-3 at Burnham last month. The Hoops are five points clear of the Chairgirls and lost 3-1 at home to Abingdon Town last week. Kick-off 2pm at Court Place Farm, Marsh Lane OX3 0NQ.
Also on Sunday the Reserves travel to New Bradwell St Peter in the League Cup. This fixture couldn't be any tougher, Saint Peters are top of Division 1 with eight wins and one draw so far. Kick-off 1:30 pm at Boundary Park Pavilion, Greenwood Way, Harwell, Didcot OX11 6EY.
Esmee Sword and Katie Riddington gave the Chairgirls a 2-0 lead at half-time. City pull one back but Riddington made it 3-1 from the spot. City then score two to equalise but Riddington completed her hat-trick to take all three points, and avenge the 4-3 defeat to City a few weeks ago. A really important win and pleasing to see a strong first half.
FT New Bradwell St Peter 1-1 Reserves (Reserves win 4-3 on penalties).
A really impressive cup win against their high flying opponents, Charlotte Potter with the goal in the 90 minutes.
Coming up this weekend. On Saturday the U18s have no game. They were due to make the long trip to Nottingham Forest but that has now been rearranged for March.
On Sunday the Firsts play their final game of 2022 when they host leaders Abingdon United. The two met three weeks ago in the reverse fixture, with United winning 2-0. Kick-off is at the earlier time of 1:30, at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
Also on Sunday the Reserves travel to fourth place Goring United. Kick-off 2pm at Sheepcot Rec, Gatehampton Road, Goring-on-Thames RG8 0EN.
The Reserves' game at Goring today was postponed. The only game in the division saw Ruislip Rangers win 4-0 at Oxford City U23, and move into second place.
Tomorrow the U18s host Worthing Town in the JPL. The Rebels have lost all six games so far, including a 4-1 loss to the Chairgirls in October. Kick-off 10:30 at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
On Sunday in the TVCWFL, the Reserves are at home to East Oxford, who the Chairgirls narrowly beat 1-0 in October. Kick-off 2pm at Burnham.
I cannot see any publicity for these fixtures yet by WWFCW, hope they are still on!
The U 18s game tomorrow at Burnham has been cancelled due to a frozen pitch. The Reserves game is still on for Sunday but subject to a pitch inspection tomorrow.
