Up and coming Southern Region Women's Premier fixtures.
Dec 13 Abingdon United (A)
Dec 20 Winchester City Flyers (H)
Jan 10 Ascot United (H)
Jan 17 Winchester City Flyers (A)
Jan 24 Oxford City (H)
Jan 31 Moneyfields (A)
The date for Moneyfields away in the League Cup TBC.
Yesterday, the U18s played their first game since 17 October, losing 4-2 in the league at Maidenhead Boys & Girls. No details on the scorers published.
In the SRWFL Premier today, just two games played. Ascot United won 2-1 at Newbury, Abingdon United won 1-0 at Winchester City Flyers. Abingdon, the Chairgirls' opponents next Sunday, scored in the 84th minute and would have been expected to win that more comfortably.
The other scheduled fixture today, Moneyfields v Oxford City, was postponed after one of the City players tested positive for Covid.
The Chairgirls return to action on Sunday, with a league game away at their keen rivals Abingdon United. Both teams have a 100%record so far. Kick-off 2pm at Northcourt Road, Abingdon OX14 1PL. Spectators are permitted, social distancing guidelines are in operation, and there is a £2 charge for 16s and over. You can follow live updates on the Goalshouter app.
The U18s are at home tomorrow to Summertown Stars in the league, kick-off 10:30 at The Row, Lane End HP14 3JU. Spectators are welcome, track and trace will be in use.
This Sunday the Chairgirls will be looking to put last weekend's late late defeat behind them, when they take on Winchester City Flyers at home in the league. Kick-off 2pm at Bucks College Group, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE.
Spectators are welcome but will have to watch from outside of the 3G cage. The next scheduled game after this is not until 10 January.
Tomorrow's U18 game against Chesham United has been postponed, according to the TVCWFL site.
"The 2020-21 Season for tiers 3-6 of the Women’s Football Pyramid will be curtailed with immediate effect and declared incomplete, with no further league fixtures taking place this season. There will also be no promotion and relegation between these tiers for the 2020-21 season, including no promotion from tier 3 into tier 2 and no relegation from tier 6 into tier 7. A recommendation for an alternative club movement process is included below."
The Thames Valley Counties league recommences tomorrow, the U18s travel to Kidlington Girls U18s, kick-off 10:30 at Pitch 1, Orchard Recreation Ground OX5 2HX.
As for the seniors, the Southern Region Women's Football League will be staging a Subsidiary Cup competition, starting on 11 April. Four teams from the two divisions are not taking part, I think the Chairgirls are one of those. It is hard to tell as I cannot see that the league have formally announced the teams or fixtures, nor have the Chairgirls said anything on social media. The latest Ladies report for the Trust, dated 22 March, does say that the team are unlikely to take part in any further competitions.
Well done to the U18s, they won 7-0 at Kidlington Girls today, scorers unknown. Next Saturday at 10:30 they host Maidenhead Boys & Girls U18 at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3JU.
We heard Alicia Povey confirm yesterday that the season has ended for the Chairgirls. She mentioned that the team has an "injury pandemic", which might explain why they have not entered the Subsidiary Cup.
Wycombe Wanderers Ladies are now known as Wycombe Wanderers Women. The change happened about ten days ago on their social media accounts, and on the official website. There does not appear to have been an official announcement.
An excellent result against a team who had only dropped two points all season. Kiyanna Fryer gave the Chairgirls the lead, Charlbury equalised just before half-time.
Next Saturday the U18s are away to Maidenhead United U17 Ravens, an early 9am KO, at 18 Mulberry Walk, Maidenhead SL6 6EU
At the Trust meeting on Thursday, Nigel Kingston said that the name change to Wycombe Wanderers FC Women has yet to be ratified, it will be at a meeting later this month. The name change in social media was premature, but clearly the players and management were keen to start using it without delay.
It was also confirmed that injuries, and a reluctance to start training again, were behind the reason for not taking part in the end of season Subsidiary Cup.
The search for a new home for the Seniors continues, no news on that yet.

Someone's already done it!
I thought you were the only person who knew how @drcongo.
