The match report for the Seniors' loss at Abingdon United. More bad news on the injury front, Bobby Lynch could be out long term. We hope her recovery goes well.
Tomorrow, Saturday, the U18s have an earlier start at 9:30, away to Penn & Tyler's Green U18s, at Elm Road, Penn HP10 8LG. You can easily fit that one in before MK.
Last week Penn lost 4-0 at Reading Diamonds but beat Maidenhead Ravens 5-3 the previous week.
It was a pleasant surprise to see the BFP cover the U18s win against Maidenhead.
On Sunday the Seniors host Oxford City at Bucks College, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE, 2pm KO. In recent seasons the Chairgirls have always prevailed against City, who, so far, have drawn with Abingdon Town , and lost 7-0 to Moneyfields and 5-2 to Ascot United.
At the same time on Sunday, the Reserves travel to Launton Ladies, Launton Playing Fields OX26 5DP.
Launton have had a 4-0 win against Banbury Town, last time out, and two defeats, against Chinnor (13-2) and Aylesbury United (6-1).
Thanks for posting Emily. Disappointing to concede with the last kick of the match but important for the Firsts to get the first point, and the first goals. It takes time for a much changed team to gel, that will give them confidence going into next week's FA Cup game.
Another early start for the U18s tomorrow, 9:15am away to Wokingham & Emmbrook U18s, at Cantley Park, Twyford Road, Wokingham RG40 5QG. Wokingham have just played the two games, a loss and a 5-0 win last time out against Caversham.
The Reserves have a new home at Lane End where they host EB Lions AFC, from Eaton Bray, on Sunday. 2pm at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3JU. EB Lions have just played the one game, a 5-1 win at Easington Sports three weeks ago, who narrowly beat the Reserves 3-2.
The Firsts take a break from the league and start their FA Cup campaign on Sunday, with a Second Qualifying Round home tie against Sport London e Benfica. They play their games at the Middlesex FA HQ at Rectory Park, Northolt. In the summer the visitors were promoted to the London & South East Regional Division 1 North - Step 6, one below the Chairgirls, but a London division Step 6 is probably the equivalent of Southern Regional Premier Step 5. Benfica have had a difficult start to the season, one win and five defeats, but the losses have been narrow.
Kick-off at 2pm, Bucks College Group, Spring Lane, Flackwell Heath HP10 9HE. I would have liked to have seen this one but unfortunately can't make it.
Like Benfica, this year the Chairgirls have come straight in at the 2QR. In each of the two previous seasons they had a run of four games starting earlier in the competition, generating much need prize money, four figure sums each season. This game provides £450 for the winners and £115 for the losers. Not much, especially when it now costs £167 to hire the Flackwell 3G pitch for a game. Add on the referee's fee and you are looking at £200 to stage a home game.
Although the Trust are putting more money into the Women's teams this season, it is still essentially a club funded by players' subs. They pay for their fuel costs and I understand that the playing and training kits are not provided free, those costs have to be covered by the sponsors of each team.
@peterparrotface said: @Steve_Peart is there a fund raising page anywhere for the Women's team? Or if not can we set one up through the Gasroom @drcongo
If someone sets this up i'd happily contribute. It would be nice to cover the cost of a couple of games a year.
It would probably be better if led by the Women’s club and the Trust, as they know the finances. It also looks better, more official, if they are asking for contributions. Maybe @chairgirlem can take this up with the Trust.

Hi,
Thanks for the kind offers. I will put this forward to both Trust & WWW Board. Will let you know the outcome in due course.
Thanks everyone for their continued support to our Women’s teams.
Alicia Povey has tweeted that she is out of retirement and has joined Maidenhead United, one level up in the National League South West. Good news that her injury is not too serious, it seems.
In the draw for the FA Cup 3QR, the Firsts have a 100 mile trip to Herne Bay Women on 24 October. The Bay play at step 6 in the London & South East Regional Division 1 South.
Benfica FA Cup report. Excellent video from Amani and Daya.
Three goals contrasting in style, the first showing the persistence and determination of Kiyana Fryer, the second a crisp, quickly taken left foot shot from Emma Kern (left foot goals always seem more satisfying!), and the third a truly wondrous 35 yard dipping strike from Felicity West. Good work from Amy Whale for saving the penalty after giving it away.

I have raised the question asking if the Trust can pay for a team coach for this away tie.
Thanks @AlanCecil, hopefully this happens as I think this is the longest trip they have had in recent times, even longer than the Isle of Wight trip.
Winners take £600, losers £150, so getting the team there as fresh as possible could pay for itself. Having seen other teams arrive at Flackwell in plush coaches, it helps build camaraderie, confidence and self-importance.
Hi all, the offers and suggestions being made as to how to help our Womens' teams are all really greatly appreciated and are under active consideration. However, by far the best way that you can assist us at the moment is to help us find a new Secretary - our previous Secretary having had to stand down due to other work pressures. Hopefully many of you will have seen the request made on our social media and included in the recent Trust Update, but for those that haven't:
"WW Women recruiting new secretary
This is a voluntary role and covers the admin side of our Women's football teams. You'll be booking fixtures and refs, working with WGS the League's software system and working with our team managers and coaches. It involves a few hours a week and needs someone who is a good organiser and gets things done.
If you're interested please get in touch with Nigel Kingston on [email protected]"
After two weeks of early kick-offs for away games, the U18s are back to a lie in and a10:30 kick-off tomorrow, when they face Tilehurst Panthers U18s at Lane End Playing Fields HP14 3JU.
The Panthers have won all four of their games but three of them by one goal, the other by two. The U18s will be looking to bounce back after last week's defeat.
The Reserves travel to Chinnor Ladies on Sunday, who drew 2-2 At Aylesbury United last week, but had to scratch the previous week to Bletchley Shamrocks. KO 2pm at Chinnor Community Pavilion, Station Road, Chinnor OX39 4PU.
Incidentally the scorers in the Reserves 6-0 win against EB Lions last week were Emilie Bamford, Naimh Creighton, Emma Dean, Amelia Gilbert, Sally Grimm and Brooke Sanders.
The Firsts are away to Woodley United on Sunday, who had a rather humbling 7-2 defeat at Milton United in the FA Cup last week, a team one division below them. Woodley have lost their four league games so far, so the Chairgirls will be keen to build on their new found goalscoring form. Kick-off 2pm at Bulmershe Pavilion, Woodlands Ave, Woodley RG5 3HE.

FT Penn & Tylers Green 0-3 U18s. 2-0 at HT.
That makes it four wins out of four. Naomi Tilley and Jess Gomes amongst the scorers. The Chairgirls apparently had a player sent off for dissent.
Don’t know if it’s been mentioned elsewhere already, but there’s a big article on futsal by Alicia Povey in the August edition of The Grassroots Post.
FT Seniors 4-4 Oxford City.
FT Launton 0-2 Reserves.

Not that I know of @peterparrotface.
FT Wokingham & Emmbrook 2-0 U18s.
First points dropped, the Chairgirls were missing their goalkeeper and four regulars.

I’d chip in too.

FT Firsts 3-0 Sport London e Benfica. HT 3-0.
Scorers Kiyana Fryer, Emma Kern and Felicity West. Amy Whale saved a penalty. A great result, well done Chairgirls, into the FAC 3QR!
FT Reserves 6-0 EB Lions. HT 3-0.

Thanks @chairgirlem - I'd definitely chip in to this too.
Maybe the Gasroom could sponsor a match? Find out the cost of hosting one and get a Crowdfunder type thing going?
Just watched the highlights of the Oxford City game. Some excellent passing moves for the goals and lovely through balls. C'mon the Chairgirls!
