  • Another impressive win today by the U18s, 1-0 at home to Chesham United U18s. Kiyanna Fryer with a second half goal.

The previous two matches, against Kidlington and Maidenhead Ravens, have been awarded to Wycombe as walkover wins.

That leaves Wycombe in fourth place, two points behind Chesham but with a game in hand.

Next Saturday the Chairgirls play their final game, at home to second placed Abingdon United U18s. Kick-off at 10:30 at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3J.

  • Chesham match highlights and post-match interviews.

  • The senior Chairgirls played an in-house friendly tonight at Adams Park, the Yellows winning 4-0 against the Blues.

  • Club making full use of the obsolete turf.

  • Along with dozens of others, I dug up a small patch of the Loakes Park pitch after the final match. It didn’t get the kind of care that groundsman Jock Sheppard used to lavish on his pride and joy and, sadly, had completely withered away before the Adams Park gates were opened.

  • Last chance to see the Quarters in action this season, 10:30 tomorrow at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3J.

  • FT WW U18s 2-4 Abingdon United U18s.

HT 1-3. Lovely goal from Rohanna Myers.

A long range shot from Vicki Collett for the second.

  • The U18s finished fifth in the end.

Post match interviews, interesting to hear coach Lisa say that the team will be playing in ladies football next season, league to be determined. That sounds like the Development team will be reformed.

  • Pre-season update, prospects for the coming season and confirmation that last season's U18s will be playing as the reserves in the Thames Valley League.

  • The latest Trust report on the Women’s teams (https://wycombewandererstrust.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Monthly-Report-WWW-June-2021.docx):

The Reserves won 4-2. Bobby Lynch got the goal for the Seniors.

  • Two excellent opportunities for paid apprentice reporters to get experience in TV sports production.

  • Update, final score was 8-1, a goal was disallowed. Scorers: Bobby Lynch, Emma Kern, own goal, Kara Howes, Alicia Povey (2), Kiyana Fryer (2).

The Reserves were also in action today, winning 5-1 at Taplow Ladies, with goals from Amy Norfolk (2), Sally Grimm (2) and Brooke Sanders.

  • @Steve_Peart has a home ground for 21/22 been confirmed yet?

  • @peterparrotface, I think it is still Bucks College at Flackwell Heath, will check.

  • All three teams have friendlies this weekend.

@peterparrotface, still at Flackers but there is another possibility, fingers crossed.

  • The Women’s FA Cup draw was made today, for the first two qualifying rounds. This season the Chairgirls don't come in until the Second Qualifying Round and have been drawn at home to Sport London e Benfica Ladies FC, a club affiliated with Benfica FC

Last season they won the Greater London Women's Football League Division 1 North, at step 8 in the pyramid, three below the Chairgirls. They have been promoted and this season play in the the London & South East Regional Women's Football League Division 1 North.

The match will be played on Sunday 3 October, venue TBA.

  • Just the one friendly game this weekend, the Reserves play at Ascot Ladies Reserves on Sunday at midday, on the main 3G pitch in Winkfield Road, Ascot SL5 7LJ.

  • A 2-0 defeat for the Reserves at Ascot.

  • Again just the Reserves in action this weekend, away to Headington Amateurs on Sunday at 2pm, at the Community Pavilion, Barton Park, OX3 9LA.

  • A 3-0 win for the Reserves at Headington today, scorers were Amelia Gilbert, Jorja Bray and Kiyanna Fryer.

  • It's the final round of friendlies this weekend, before the league season starts the following weekend.

The Seniors travel to Woking on Sunday, kick-off 1:15pm at Woking College, Ryders Way, Old Woking GU22 9DL.

The U18s are away to Oxford City tomorrow, Saturday, kick-off 12:30pm at Marsh Lane, Marston OX3 0NQ.

  • The Seniors won 3-1 at Woking today, goals from Sam Jackson (pen) and Emma Kern (2).

The U18s lost 1-0 at Oxford City yesterday.

  • The League season starts this weekend, but not for the Seniors unfortunately. They are now in an uneven, nine team Southern Region Premier and have drawn the short straw in not having a game. They were looking for a friendly instead, if they can find a free team.

Tomorrow, Saturday, the U18s commence in the eleven team Thames Valley U18s Division, with a home game against Sandhurst Town, as usual at Lane End Playing Fields, HP14 3JU, kick-off 10:30. The team will be last season's Marlow U16s and U17s, and the reason for them not being able to continue as Marlow U18s temporarily escapes me!

On Sunday the Reserves start life in the Thames Valley Counties Division 3N, four levels below the Seniors in the pyramid and another nine team division. Their opening game sees them host Bletchley Shamrocks on Sunday, at new home Cressex Community School, Holmer Lane HP12 4QA, kick-off 2pm.

Spectators are very welcome at both games, social distancing rules should be respected.
