Was looking at the Sunderland fan forum and in some ex-players interview it sounds like 09 put in a transfer request as McGeady and Maguire's bullying got so bad which is why Parkinson binned McGeady. Apparently other players moan because he reads books like and 'plays up to the fans'. Must have been a bit of an eye opener for the lad after his time at AP! If money isn't everything and no-one else snaps him up it's not beyond comprehension that he might return is it? Do we think he could do a job in the Championship?

    Yes

Just had a read myself, he sounds like a bit of a dick doesn't he!

  • Sounds a pure a-hole, and just a little taster into what a rank club they have there.

Found a few bits from the interview here
    https://rokerreport.sbnation.com/2020/8/18/21372707/the-club-was-a-bit-of-a-shambles-to-be-honest-lewis-morgan-opens-up-on-sunderland-experience

It'll probably take a man of @chairboyscentral skills to dig out any O Nien references in the video on there though..1hr 46 is a bit long for me!

  • Someone helpfully paraphrases it on the fan forum to save you the bother somewhere. MAckems are torn (he basically says he could not be bothered when he cane on in their play-off final!) between he is a disgusting waster and mcgeady was a useless big head and oh well he's just telling the truth, and McGeady was only trying to gee the others up, the bullying was just banter and 09 probably wasn't really bothered, cos they are supposed to be men and if he was bothered he is soft like. Turns out Luke does a lot off the pitch and likes to meet fans etc etc...but for some he is a pedestrian L1 player for all his giving 100%ness. (They don't seem to realise which league they are in yet!) Football forum posters eh? Anyway, if he's had enough up there...

  • Maguire is very high up on my hit list.... i can't stand the c#nt

    I'm with you on that.

  • Gozie Ugwu joins Raith Rovers on a one year deal.

  • Jamal Blackman joins Rotherham on loan for the season

  • Wonder if we tried to get involved in that one.

  • You missed a real opportunity there. A new thread entitled "Jamal Blackman set to start the season at Adams Park" perhaps? Anyway, it will be interesting to see how he gets on so soon...

  • Mascoll joins Bolton...

  • Shame about Blackman. Good luck to Jamie though. Hope he can do well there.

  • Pleased for Jamie Mascoll. Great opportunity for a good pro who did well for us.

  • Perhaps he didn't re-sign here because he wanted first team football? here's hoping he gets plenty of it at Bolton, very best of luck to him.

  • That’s a good move to a ‘big club’

  • Another who may well return, perhaps?

  • Eze set to sign for Palace

  • Brilliant! Good luck to him. It was amazing to have him with us.

  • Expect to see him at a top six club within a couple of years, hopefully Palace proves a good stepping stone for him.

  • Great move for him, Wish him well, SW London local, think we'll hear a lot more from him on and off the pitch. So much potential. Had mentioned in an earlier thread their defensive style could be an issue but could also be a good learning opportunity.

  • Jamie Young named in A League team of the season, Steven Taylor amongst the subs.

  • No disrespect to Fulham, but I'm not surprised.

  • Lovely to see. Great flair. Wearing no. 4.
Playing in midfield perhaps. Ever nearer to the no. 10 role he coveted.

  • Not Prime Minister BTW although he might be marginally less buffoonish.

According to a fan on Twitter he played at CB to start with then he was moved over to RB where he played very well and more suited to the position. Good to see him doing well.

  • According to one Sunday paper, Newcastle and Palace are both interested in signing Jordon Ibe.
