Some talk online that Crystal Palace would prefer Danny Imray to go to Millwall on loan until the end of the season, instead of selling him to us for £750,000. Any inside detail on this @kipper ?
We really need a right back so hopefully we have a plan B if this deal is not possible.
If we shelled out 750k on a right back surely he has to be an undoubted starter? Yet we've only recently signed Grimmer back on and we also have the swiftly developing Jasper P, albeit maybe out for a big chunk of this season remaining.
We're not so big time we're signing 750k squaddies just yet are we?!
Really hard deal to get done, palace want to future proof the transfer incase he develops how they think he might, so it's just how much we are are willing to agree to. Could see this being like a permanent loan, so a transfer but a buy back feels or a matching fee in place
Because it's a hard pathway, let him learn and develop in a settled environment and protect yourself with clauses like a buy back fee or matching clause. He can get on with his career aswell
Very interesting situation and Dan Rice certainly has his work cut out to get this over the line.
As per @Malone , if Jack and Jasper were fit we wouldn’t need anyone in that position but we are short now that Jasper is out long term and Jack seems to be unable to shake his injury off.
That's my worry, that there is still plenty of time left in the window, meaning plenty of time for those bids to keep rising. The optimist in me says that if Kone is still here by the middle of next week, then we surely wouldn't sell with such a short timeframe to replace him? The optimist doesn't usually win out though...
In the long term Grimmer would be out of his depth in The Championship. It's difficult but I feel like we need to start looking at Wycombe in a different light from now on. As a Championship club. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself, but I don't think I am.
Her Indoors who works with several Hatters has just texted me to say a colleague assures her Luton have put £13M on the table. I’m assuming her colleague had a liquid lunch.
I don’t know ****, but in my mind, there is no way in hell we are selling Kone.
There is every chance Luton and Wycombe are swapping leagues next season.
He’s recently extended his contract.
We don’t need the money (I assume).
His value is only going to go up IF we get promoted
As @Vincey has said, if there is bad blood between Rice and Bloomfield, Rice is going to want to screw him over, and that means a wild valuation.
I’m hoping Kone is all good and they’ve had the chat. If we go up, we good to go, if we stay in L1, you can go and take to some clubs. Will be interesting to see Kone’s body language tomorrow. He may well be unsettled after the latest bit, but by the look of him last Saturday, he looked part of the family.
Or we have a target placement already in our sights, and as above, Rice is just squeezing Luton for every last penny.
I think the only way we are letting Kone go is if he requests to move on. I think the same for Low. Until we see news of that transfer request we can be comfortable.
Or Rice et al. could be looking through their data sheets looking for a suitable replacement and making sure they have signed before letting him go?

Watch out ML, Musk got caught lying about his video game prowess this week. Turned out he hired people to play for him.
Was that before or after he made his "arm gesture" (as the Beeb are reporting it...)?
If you watch closely enough as he does it his ears mouth the words ave musk
I'm not sure I follow this at all.....
So he did. At least in this version of reality… in MAGAworld it’s an alternative fact.

It's a fascinating scenario.

If they think he might become a star player, why would they consider selling?
And are we really bidding 750k for a right back? Having just renewed Grimmer and having the steadily improving Pattenden in the building too?
A loan sounded spot on logic, a huge buy there less so?
Though I am struggling to keep up with our almost overnight move from paying nominal fees to breaking our record by huge levels!

Luton bid for Kone again.....#Mrwycombe #dontmakemelaugh

Confirmed by Pete O'Rourke on twitter that a second offer has been made. Any whispers @kipper ?
We wouldn't need anyone in League One...
I’m not angry. I’m disappointed.
We still don’t need to sell though.
Keep rebuffing those offers then cash in this summer. Why would he join a club on their way to League One anyway?
What do you mean? We do need a right back option with Pattenden presumably out mid term and Grimmer nursing the odd knock?
It's whether it needs to be a 750k signing is the debate.
Presumably when bids are getting past 3m they're not going to just add 0.1m on? So this is moving to huge levels.
With 10 days or so left this is going to the wire isn't it?

A few have expressed similar over on fb. The club definitely look to be operating recruitment on a level we've never seen.
Big money players replacing the 2 superb departing loanees.
A left wing option signed, Lowry potentially being a Hunphreys replacement for next season. And the right back 750k rumoured signing too.
They must be doing some really serious recruitment for our Academy at the same time. I use the word 'our' advisedly.
Although I am sitting ona dining room chair - in my head I have just put a seatbelt on.
Just checking the insurance - the Trust owns Adams Park and 10% of the organisation that owns the club?
Any news on the second bid for Kone @kipper ?

Someone on the fb page reckons their mate who is Luton says they're reserving 15m for him.
Has inflation gone insane overnight or something?
Given their apparent differences I can’t believe that Dan Rice would want Bloomfield to have our star man

There's not needing money, but a data guy of all people will be aware there's a fee that makes sense to sell at.
I'm not sure how much money the championship banks you, but something like 8-10m would surely be absolutely impossible to turn down!?
