Anyone else on here remember Henry Panter, the indomitable maths master at Wycombe Tec / John Hampden?
V much of the old school, his ‘widow twanky’ cane an ever present shadow cast over the classroom. He once called me out after some minor misdemeanour with “you boy are the scum of the earth”, literally on a hiding to nothing and being a gobby little shite, I countered with “well sir, scum always rises to the top”. Bracing my self for the inevitable assault he smiled and uttered “very good, sit down”.
Although I didn't ever have him for maths, I did manage to get on the wrong side of him on more than one occasion. I recall he wasn't a great fan of my collar length hair...well, it was the late 60's. For some reason, the actor Richard Griffiths (Harry Potters stepdad) always reminded me of old Panter.
Richard Griffiths is a good shout @HomerLone The three piece tweed suit, the rotund figure, the florid face. Much like Grifiths role in ‘The History Boys’ Panter got me into his old college at University which absolutely changed the course of my life (for the better). Never appreciated what he did for me at the time or even thanked him really. Too late now of course. Ah, file under later life regrets.

A big club need a big name manager
Why oh why are my posts so often the last on a page. I bet there is some formula for predicting how much space remains on the ‘live’ page.
Like cream, your posts should automatically rise to the top!
Don't single him out. He's feeling sour. I suggest he pours himself a double.
With 21,000+ posts, your posts are on most pages. So bound to be bottom quite often.
I wonder if anyone has a higher post count than you?
A tangential memory.

So its not just the cream @mooneyman 😉
I didn't know his full name was Tyrique George Richard Kone, that's quite a mouthful.

Uncle Monty, @HomerLone. Uncle Monty.

Birmingham Coventry derby next season nailed on.
21,000 + posts? Surely not. Have you seen that somewhere or is that just you being you?
You surely jest.
21.1k to be exact
Great story.
Exactly 21,100 posts?
No. Once you get to the 1k mark the postcount goes up in 100's.
Enjoy your exact 909 posts while you can.
You're not far off him! You've got 20,900, so a few big days and you'll breeze past
You need to dip deeper into the stats dear boy.
My 20,900 are from 17,500 visits, the boy Micra's 21,100 are from a mere 10,500!
Once Micra has smelt it, he's dealt it!
A very good point, well made. I bet the good Dr C could pull out some brilliant stats - ratio of likes to dislikes would be an interesting one...
Picking up on that point from @manchesterchairboy, Is 'upvotes/downvotes difference' taken into account if posts are equal at the end of the season?
You can see those, albeit you'd have to go through each user individually
Wonder who has the highest ups and downs totals. Although we'd probably need to apply some pro rating of course.

You're back now, Tom. My stats were a bad tribute act!
It's a team game!
Between you two I'm sure we could cover most anorak stats requests.
