That decision has been made whether we like it or not. Majority of the fans would not have sacked him but here we are.
In terms of Brum, our team now is miles better that their’s was. There is 0 chance we go down.
We would have finished mid table under Robins and will finish mid table regardless of the new manager. Haji Wright would get your current team mid table in our league on his own.
Yep, we had a fans forum on Monday night and our chairman confirmed Bloomfield had applied but he had not spoken with Lampard. Hopefully some better options and/or Lampard have also applied now.
Considering Bloomfield said on Saturday that he hadn't heard anything about the Coventry job other than speculation, I'd assume this is BS and his name was never mentioned at the forum. A man with 500+ appearances for the club doesn't apply for a job at a club only 8 places above us in the pyramid.
I also listened to the forum as it was BBC Coventry radio and Matt Bloomfield was never mentioned by name. Your chairman said that a lot of people had applied and that the recruitment process was underway but it couldn't comment on any rumours at this stage. It could be possible that Bloomfield has applied since but as he was very sure of his position following our game on Saturday, it would take a massive 180 turn and he's not that sort of character.
Coventry feel like a mid ranking Championship team. Outside chance if they hit a good run one season of reaching Prem but would almost certainly go straight back down. May do a Birmingham one season maybe even this season and drop to League One but would likely soon go back up.
We are naturally (arguably at best) a Lg1 team but with new owner resources have a chance of changing that status semi-permanently.
Matt Bloomfield is a relatively new manager currently doing well. Whether he will prove to add value as a manager in the medium to long term , time will tell.
Frank Lampard is a much bigger name but I think has major questions given his record on his management ability.
We must give Coventry credit for how they survived the Wasps period, ending up without a ground and fans having to travel miles. In fact our clubs have a lot in common, both made poorer by Wasps.
We must see how the Bloomfield thing pans out, I would be surprised if he left, too early in a career for that
Just listened to the whole fans forum on the BBC - Matt B was mentioned by the interviewer (in a list of people linked), your chairman made no reference to him at all. Your just a wind up merchant!
Lets be honest, Matt has only ever had one serious interview and that was for the Col Utd job. He was given the coaching and manager position here through the hard work and reputation that he had built up after making over 550 appearances for the club. Through that time, he probably took a lot of wage cuts throughout his playing days to stay with us, could have looked elsewhere for a better deal but he didn't and put the club first.
So if (and it's a big IF) he has applied then he probably owes it to himself to explore the Coventry City job. Through the process, he might get to see and hear things that none of us are aware of which might put him off or might make him more interested? He might have applied just to gain that experience for when the next opportunity comes calling?
Lets look at this seriously..... Coventry City has a bigger ground and play against tougher opposition BUT will it have the same atmosphere as Adams Park? Does he see potential in the squad to stay in the Championship this year? Will the fan base welcome him? Will he be given time to put him mark on the team? Does the club have the resources to help fund his future ideas? Is the club safe in its stadium that is owed by Mike Ashley? Only your chairman can answer those questions...... Whereas at Wycombe, he has the backing of the players, staff and supporters without any question or doubt. He has an owner, who is looking to invest in the club's facilities and make them match clubs well above us. Adams Park is a 2nd home to him where the club's future is very secure.
So this is where we are struggling to believe that Matt would have applied but we aren't in his inner circle and if your chairman says he's applied, who knows, he could have lied, named dropped him as a call out that he wants Matt to apply?
You have already mentioned that several forums and fans are against his appointment, why is that? Is it because he doesn't have history of getting a club promoted? Is it because he is a one-club person? Where has the beef come from?
Unsure when you last visited the CBS Arena. The atmosphere is a lot different to when you last played here and far louder than Adam’s Park.
In terms of Bloomfield, we had a manager that cruised to league one title whilst playing 46 away games. Going from him to a manager who is yet to even produce a promotion winning team in the lower leagues is very scary.
If I’m being honest, I expect the new manager to be Lampard or Carsley. I’m not excited by either.
In terms of our long term future, who knows? Our chairman is an egotistical lunatic who knows nothing about football. But at least we’re playing in Coventry so we’re far better off than we have been.
We have an unbalanced squad but there is serious talent there. Haji Wright, Milan Van Ewijk and Ben Sheaf are all premier league players. They won’t be here next year.

Morning btw !!
Any evidence of "Bloomfield talk" ramping up @Boosh ?

Joey Barton is available!
Maybe he’ll be your next manager when it doesn’t work out for Bloomingdale
Lowest ebb so far. Give it a couple of years mate.

Decent wind up attempt. You're not 90s Coventry anymore.
Charity bet of £50, that we do not get relegated this season?
Have a look at Bloomfield's background. You'll realise you were probably a little optimistic.
I’ve looked at his background. Very worrying that we would be interested in him given he’s probably had 10 or so good games as a manager.
🤣 are you just looking at the end of last season's results?
Last season weren’t you a mid table league one team? I hope our owner does look at that tbh

A sensible post at last
The chairman addressed the fans off air for a further hour. That was where Lampard was discussed too
Just used this tool. It said you finished 10th in league one. 25 places behind us, and we had given up with the league with 10 games to go.
You were being a twat and you said 'with respect' at the end.
With respect, I think you need to read my post again.
If I want to fcuk your missus, I will. With respect of course ...
As you can’t even spell the word, I can’t imagine you’ll be able to do it. But I’m glad you’re taking this Bloomingdale news well.
Dude, no need. We are better than that

See another one of my recent posts. The section discussing managers was not aired
