In other news, QPR fans, after bashing GA and those "dark days" for the past year as a contrast to their amazing current manager, have finally begun to realize that 10 points from 14 matches is not much better than GA's 8 from 14, especially as the new bloke has had an entire year to get his style implemented.
Rumors circulating among Salop fans that Couhig is interested in a takeover, and that it would explain why GA suddenly shot up the betting markets, was temporarily removed, and then put back on at 2/5.
Surely not? Though I could imagine JJ as CEO at his old club, and it would be nice to have a L1 cub to have an interest in once we are back up in the Champo. 😂
I can't see it, though - it's one thing for Couhig to sell because he "is too tired to travel" only to go to a larger club like Reading, but Shrewsbury? I like them, but that's more hassle to get to than us.
Not a clue on this but it has reminded me that Shrewsbury Town became the second English club to host a European match (when TNS played there) whilst never hosting top flight football - can anyone name the other?
Home Park, Plymouth Argyle - Manchester United vs St Etienne, UEFA Cup 1976(?). United had to play home leg at least 250 miles from Old Trafford following crowd trouble in the away leg.
Bingo! Cup Winner's cup in 1977; there's some disagreement about just how far from Old Trafford the game had to be, I've seen 200km, 200 miles, and 250 miles mentioned - think they just picked the other end of the country to be safe
I would imagine MB's experience of GA's experience when given a chance at a struggling Championship club with high hopes, low budget and erratic owners might work in our favour.
Like GA, Robins pulled Coventry up by their bootstraps at a very difficult time...I'm glad we stuck by Gareth. I assume if we'd gone back up to the Championship the second time and struggled again, Rob might have pulled the trigger...but who knows.

Agree @Shev, who'd want to watch Wycombe play on a Tuesday night?
Certainly not Stockport!

Ah well.
Boo fucking hoo ey? 😂
Strange stats for the Man City game last night. Sporting Lisbon won 4-1 despite only having 27% possession and 9 shots against City's 20.
Be nice if we passed QPR and Oxford on the way up.
Evans assistant gets a touchline ban and a fine...what a double act!
What a bizarre penalty Villa have conceded tonight.
Keeper passes out to Mings on the edge of the 6 year box. Mings doesn’t realise it’s been taken and picks up the ball. Penalty!

After 6 years Mings may have thought he had been cryogenically frozen
Wasn't disappointed to see Mings doing some wild chewing of gum afterwards.
A bizarre one.... but come on.... the keepers played the ball.... wtaf was he thinking picking it up??

I have a possible answer. I’ll PM you but leave it open for others to ponder. I may of course be wrong.
I was thinking Millwall having been runners up in the FA Cup and qualifying for the Europa League but they spent two seasons in Div1 in the 80’s
Another managerial casualty. Mark Robins sacked by Coventry.
Must be Millwall.
That is so harsh.
I think they’ll come to regret it.
that really is unbelievable.
Will Rooney get a chance to relegate another West Midlands club?

Since you were a little lackadaisical with the question I'm going to say that Loakes Park also qualifies.

I was at Old Trafford that night - they put big screens on the pitch and showed it 'live'
That was inevitable but I hope that Matt feels he is only just starting on the project here.

Fucking hell. The meltdown on here would break the internet.
This is the story. Given that Newcastle was an option, suggests it was 200km.
Different times...
