I know there is never a guarantee of getting back into management, but surely going to cut-adrift Burton would be a huge risk for GA? He needs to make the next move count.
Sounds like exactly the sort of challenge he’d thrive on. As much as I never want to see Ainsworth in the away dugout at AP, I really hope this is the one.
And Burton is probably closer to Wokingham than wherever Blooms lives is to Harlington.
I agree it might be a club that suits him overall. I suppose part of my issue (which may not be his issue!) is that trying to change a club culture (which is what he hangs his hat on) on the fly when they are already cut adrift is a lot harder than having the ramp of a summer. I can't help feeling that Malaga falling through really hurt him, as it was deep into our summer when they decided to keep their current boss.
However, as Dev says, he may not have the luxury of being too picky, and only he knows the level of interest clubs have had in him. Any job opening tends to get a huge amount of applications.
He was at the Peterborough game, working for Sky, and posed for a few selfies with fans in the car park. The orange Mustang has now gone, and been replaced with a shiny new silver version.
I think Gaz could do a good job at Burton, instill some steel and belief, save them this season, make some silk purses out of someone else's pig's ears, etc etc then get on to Hakas, generals and transfer coups next term.
Haven’t Burton’s new ownership group signed up to a promise of attractive football which will “pack the Pirelli”? You can’t really achieve that with a product that people wouldn’t want to watch every week… They brought in about 25 new players over the summer with a specific style of football in mind. In those circumstances, I can’t see GA being the answer to their prayers. I’d be much more worried, as a Wycombe fan, if Stevenage were to sack Revell and bring in Gareth to replace him.
This is a very good overarching point. They did seem rather lightweight and un-GA when we played them. When I think of clubs at L1 or L2 level who might genuinely sack their manager and might also suit his style, I can only come up with:
Bristol Rovers (gulp)
Shrewsbury
Gillingham
Tranmere
I still think there is merit to GA dropping into L2 and getting a club back up. There is less jeopardy with only two relegation spots, so in theory you can have a little time to build. Going to Burton or Shrewsbury means an instant battle against a relegation going on the CV, and then still very likely L2 football a year from now.
Reading are brilliant at home, six straight wins now but dire away from home with only four points picked up in six games and letting in nearly 3 goals a game.
One of our chiltern ticket fellas is a QPR fan and he told me he bumped into Lyndon Dykes who was pushed out at QPR when there was a delay at Haddenham .He is now at Birmingham. He says he hates it and he is mainly on the bench but they offered more money than anyone had before . Sad. But you can see why a 29 year old might take the dollar.

Please don’t.
moneybags team with some unclear connection to Leeds .
Far better community clubs at that level.
Mikhail could buy the campsite, build the road and turn it into the Kazak Butlins!

Bloomfield favourite for Man Utd job
Ainsworth, surely?
Southgate?

I suppose the balancing act is that there may not be a next move if he is too picky.
I do tend to agree though that I would like to think more promising options than Burton (with all due respect) may come along.
I suppose he will know his appetite and whether the phone is ringing at all.

Would cost a fortune to run that Mustang there and back!😅
Clearly Man U can only function with a thunderous-faced Scot in charge.
And Moyes didn’t work, so…

With the sacking of Ten Hag, Blooms rises to 29th out of the 92 managers for longest tenure.

TB pedantic it was grey and he has probably kept the orange one as it was a classic and he hardly needs the money 💵 🤷♂️
Not sure what the danger point without a job is, but he's getting close to a year now, and it feels longer doesn't it?
If he was contemplating abroad, a job 2hours away should be ok too. Although will Dobbo think similar, maybe it's another hour for him.

How many tickets will STHs be able to buy for the league game at Old Trafford next season?
Blackpool earn a point at home to Wigan courtesy of own goals in first and second half injury time!
Stockport beat Reading 4-1 tonight.
Reading are brilliant at home, six straight wins now but dire away from home with only four points picked up in six games and letting in nearly 3 goals a game.
Wins for Lincoln and Bolton too.
Good to see their little run ended.
Ominous that Bolton have moved into 6th.
Birmingham fielded Stansfield and May in a 7-1 smash against Fulham kids in the Bristol Motors thingy
I bet the Fulham kids wished they could change the way they lived their life today as another one bites the dust

crazy world when a train delay on the Chiltern line spells the end of your QPR careeer
