I also question the need of involving players and commercial partners in this, especially players. With a few exceptions, most lower league players aren't at a club for more than 5? years or so, I would guess, but fans are around forever, so surely their thoughts are of the utmost importance? Perhaps not. However, maybe their fans are indeed happy with it, and that's all that matters.
I think you'll find it's an illustration of the maze Cambridge have to find their way out of to avoid relegation. If they stay up, it will change to a consolidation badge.
I can't remember if it is the same over there, but here when there is an identity change (or an expansion team) every color and line needs to have some bogus name and reasoning behind it:

As a very loose fan of Seattle sports teams (big Seahawks fan with a passing interest in the rest of them) I did enjoy the myriad symbolism of all the colours and symbols when the Kraken were formed, and when the supersonics return, I’m sure there will be plenty more guff and nonsense

18 months to come up with a design fitting of a micro breweries new IPA logo? Wow.... I hope they didn't pay the designer 18months worth of wages..... Jesus wept 🫣
If it's all an elaborate plan to make one of the poorest designed and laziest clichéd logos in the league appear a tiny bit more desirable it may have worked, notice top corner how they didn't immediately change their Twitter logo to it.
Rumour on the Burton forum is that the delay in hiring a manager is for a visa application. If so, it might be on to the next 'Gareth to' rumour when the next L1/L2 sacking happens.

I'm banking on it being called off, as have already planned the final ground of the 92 - Barrow. Barrow home fixtures mirror ours and there is no other weekend we can go on currently.
I'm going to be gutted if it goes ahead and I'm in Barrow...anyway I'm sure lots of others will be gutted if it's postponed.

Their game v Blackpool on 7th September was also postponed although the wording is less clear, I think both clubs agreed the postponement...

I'd be surprised if our game v Huddersfield isn't called-off.
Huddersfield only have four internationals, one is out injured until next month and another has only just come back from injury and was a non used sub at the weekend. It could be feasible they only have two call ups.
