It’s exaggerative and arrogant, but can you blame him? Goalkeepers are often arrogant by nature. He was motm by a country mile in the semi final. Prior to the semi final we’d only beaten a bunch of premier league kids. Was players player of the season the year before. Best XG saved in the league. Then dropped for an amateur who dropped two clangers in at Wembley. If Allsop is playing for League 1 favourites Birmingham City then of course Stryjek can play in bottom half of the championship. Arguably he’s landed even higher at the polish champions. Hats off to him. Backed himself and has been proven right.
Seems like we didn’t rate him as #1 and he did. That’s fine. He was good for us, really good, in season 1. Last year he lost his mojo and dropping him was the right thing. Wish him well.
The reference to Gareth Ainsworth is noteworthy. I thought there was a noticeable fall in his performance levels following his departure. He certainly wasn’t the only one. I think the writing was on the wall from the moment of the Oakwell debacle.
The whole strange scenario of that red card too. Borderline to even be one in the first place with the covering defender, yet ludicrously given as "violent" conduct and 3 match ban.
Interesting take on how everything went down, doesn't mention the howlers or red cards strangely enough. Looks like he wanted away for a while, probably expected more offers.
Sadly for me his antics at Barnsley will be one of his big moments if not THE big moment. That stupidity could have been a sliding door moment for him and his manager.
A triggered contract extension surely wouldn't be a problem for WWFC if Max had indicated he wanted to leave. May be a problem for Max.
Perfectly reasonable for MB to want to see Rav in a few games. Wembley may have been going a bit far though, if that was the reason.
Anyway all done now. Max seems to have found a good opportunity. Obviously we will need to sign at least one GK for the new season . I dare say we will.....
There was a good one I can't find now showing Kevin Betsy's involvement in bringing through Jamal Musiala, some player he is now, nearly as good as prime Kevin.

I don’t blame Max for choosing to leave, and I don’t blame Blooms for the decisions he made towards the end of the season.
There doesn’t always have to be a bad guy.

Yet incredibly we didn't appeal.

His Polish move could have been informally agreed months ago, hence we didn't select him after Blooms became aware.
Why would we not select a player just because he planned to leave at the end of the season?
Because we had nothing to play for at the end of the season and I expect Blooms wanted to see if Rav was worth offering a contract to.
Plus more games may have triggered a contract extension which we would then need to pay off or try to get a sale for him.
And when Rav was given the opportunity, he didn't concede many goals which were obvious errors.

Goalkeeping is so much about concentration. The gaffs he made towards the end of his time with us suggest his mind was already elsewhere.
Sadly he was not the better keeper at the end of the season.
In the opinion of MB which is all that matters. I agree.
