The awful commentators (here in U.S., anyway) saying Kane is basically the only chance for more goals as he has scored 64 compared to 38 in the rest of the squad.
Or, I don't know - we have a young team? Saka, Foden and Bellingham are all capable, and Rice could pop up with one too.
I hope so, but it's a bit like asking that elderly gent in the slow lane to step into a Ferrari and race Verstappen at this point.
Southgate does definitely bring some significant positives - especially culture building - but I think we have enough history to know he will never really play with the handbrake off.
Glad Gallagher is on as a square peg in square hole, but when we look so toothless, surely the likes of Eze and Palmer are crying out to be used? Or are we sitting on 1-1 now?
For the record, all of their Kane criticism has been exactly the same as mine for Vokes. Drops deep instead of providing an outlet, too slow to get into the box after. At least Vokes doesn’t assist for the opposition though.
It is a problem keeping him as captain, because it makes it harder to drop him from the starting lineup. I think Bellingham or Rice should be made captain, as they are unlikely to deserve to be dropped for many years.
It’s not Kane’s fault, he is what he is. It would be quite the move if he said “Gaffer, if you put me up front in the system you want to play I’ll give us nothing. Pick someone else.”
I wonder about the mood in the squad. The Iceland warm-up looked to me like group of disgruntled individuals not a team. I’d hoped I was wrong but I’m not so sure now.

Heard it, seen it, would love the T-shirt.
I agree with the idea, though I would try Eze instead of Gordon because
I am massively biased towards the lovely manhe takes people on so well.We really have something in Guehi though - MOTM for me so far.
This game seems ideally set up for Eze
Can’t just blame this on Kane though, it’s abysmal all round.
I feel for TAA - quality player but being played in an unfamiliar role that hangs him out to dry.
Losing this might just lead to some changes in attitudes and philosophy

Does Tommy Smyth still do commentary in the USA? Easily the worst commentator in the world.
And yet Kane is still on the pitch.
I am not sure who it is, but we don't tend to get very good commentary from anyone here, for the most part.

Shearer involving himself in @eric_plant and @drcongo ’s debate. Stay in your lane, Alan.
they've been sitting on 1-1 since the 18th minute.
No wait, that doesn’t work
Eze is imminent!
This is going to be a proud, proud moment as a Wycombe fan.
The commentators have said "you can 't take Harry Kane off" - I now feel confident we will win this!
You can’t play him as a lone striker now. He’s one of the best finishers in the game but he needs company.
BBC have been absolutely excoriating him
I think here they just latch on to whoever they think Americans have heard of and talk about him all game.
So David Beckham then?

I criticize Southgate a fair bit, but I do think that was a very positive triple substitution.
