Is it me, or is there a trend to have a massive team logo on there shirts? England’s three lions look bigger than usual, the Austrians badge looks quite big, and the French have a massive cock on their shirts (oh matron etc)
I’m not sure I agree about the second VAR disallowed goal for Belgium. I do agree that the rationale for the justification of it being handball was well-explained, but in no sane world should it actually be a handball offence.
Looks like Mbappe is finished from the Euro's, I can't see him playing with his nose in the way it was. Even with a protective mask, recovery is 2 weeks minimum
Not sure how to pronounce N’golo’s surname. Assume the ‘e’ is silent, unlike Richard Koné’s.
Josh Scowen is surely a holding/defensive midfielder. One like Rice (Declan, not Dan) who is here, there and everywhere.
I must say that performance on Sunday opened my eyes to how good Declan is in providing additional cover for our uncertain back line.
To be honest, I’d not heard of Addki Keaninkin Marc-Israel Guéhi until very recently. He’s not the tallest central defender but he seems to read the game well and is pretty fleet of foot. Hails from the Ivory Coast like Kone.
This article explains one of the reasons Georgia managed to qualify for a tournament for the first time.
Basically they brought in David Webb (ex manager of York) as an assistant manager because of his expertise as a youth coach and scout. The youth development has transformed the Georgian national team.
I'm assuming the boss has Kazakhstan parents but was born in Georgia? The internet seems to have him down as both nationalities. I need something to make the upcoming snorefest worth watching as I'd expect Georgia to park the horse.
Georgia bring a next level vexillological offering though, for me it is them and the Iberians with Serbia also in the mix. Not to be forgetting Albania, solid flag there.

This ref has lost the plot.

Gary Neville just (correctly) said "N'golo Kante is not a holding midfielder"
Reckon we could get one of these a day
(you know I love you, Eric).
Talk about moving the goalposts!

Boxers carry on fighting with a broken nose.

you'll have watched Guehi play against us for Swansea, I think, during lockdown, @micra.
And "can-tay", I think is the British media pronunciation.

Hmmmm..........
Great food in Georgian restaurants. If you get a chance give it a try.
There's a willy joke in there somewhere
I may well have done but that’s too long ago and, to be honest, I rarely notice individual opposition players unless they stand out as exceptional.
That pronunciation is a relief. No doubt to commentators as well.
Looking forward to seeing the latter day Maradonna. Almost an anagram.

I love BBC stats for Turkey-Georgia, which include:
I would perhaps have thought #1 was the only stat needed of these two.
Pretty entertaining game so far.
Brutal
The horse is rampant!
Even prevented my afternoon snorefez.
Where is Tsaradonna ? Or have I got the wrong country?
Cracking game but a meal has to be prepared.
All over. Kitchen for me.
Really good game, been really impressed with Georgia, but to be fair to Turkey their second goal was a screamer from a very talented young forward.
Wow what a cracking game, played like a cup final despite only being the first group game
Portugal have some Hall-Of-Fame dislikable players. Brilliant side, though.
I have a feeling there will be Ronaldo hype today.
Ronaldo completely botches a header: "That just goes to show how dangerous CR7 is going to be in those positions."
Conversation turns to him scoring 45 goals in (checks notes) Saudi Arabia: "I don't care if you score 45 goals in your garden. That's a lot of goals."
For such a good player he spends far too much effort on trying to con the ref or moaning at him
