No to Dale Taylor for me. His Wembley goal and a couple of decent displays aside, his loan spell desperately disappointing. Missing in far too many games. Can’t understand the enthusiasm for him.
I think Dale Taylor kept us ticking when he dropped into that 10 role. I went to Posh away (2-2) and saw a very good player in him. Posh at home (5-2) was his best game for us by far. It didn't work out for him as a striker, but in the "10 role" behind Kone and 2 wingers (Sadlier/McCleary/Hanlan) - I think he goes a long way to replacing Potts, with Butcher and Scowen sat in behind.
I think the work he does for team will be noticed more when he's not there. There are not many as good as him in this division, and he is young and will get better. I think it's a perfect fit for both club and player.
Dale Taylor is 20 years old. He will only get better. There's definitely a player there and it's apparent the management team think highly of him based on the number of games he played this season. He's very, very good for someone who won't be 21 until December. For those saying he goes missing... he's not the finished article and will develop into a good player more than capable of playing league 1 level.
I think he does do well in the 10 role, and in certain types of games.
He has excellent close control and I feel like he’s got better at the scrapping, physical side as time has gone on - but still may not be the best choice against a team of spoilers who give you no time on the ball like a Stevenage or a Barnsley.
In some of the Tinpot games v the Prem kids he had plenty of space and that really brought out the best in him.
Obviously expecting him to be Vokes and punting long balls at him (Orient away) is a terrible idea, but that one’s on the manager, not Taylor.
The squad size thing always makes my head explode. Either way, it sounds as though we will have enough slots for a quality CB, a 10, and a backup CB, at the very least.
Anyone know anything about that Amersham Town player? Rumours of him coming here persisted last year?
If I were someone looking to start an academy/development program - I’d be looking at stuffing it with some potential quick wins to show its potential.
Amersham were one level below Newnham (level 10 v level 9) but following promotion will be equal next season.
I'd be surprised if Tabor isn't playing a little higher next season notwithstanding his latest new contract and his poor disciplinary record. Plenty of clubs between Level 9 and Lg1 or 2 though.

Any 2 out of those 3 would be an amazing start to the summer, 3 out of 3 would be incredible!
If GMac signs too then we only have one senior outfield slot left

That can’t be right can it? We have lost JJ, KVY and Potts and haven’t replaced any of them yet.
I thought he got better as the season went on, but better as a 10 than a 9. I definitely like the idea of him behind the striker.
I'd be more interested if we keep Luke at LB or push him forward
But some of the players have hit 21 and no longer U21 and therefore now senior.
Struggling to get to your figure. Could you list your players please.

sorry still not getting it. Are we talking about next seasons squad? Which players are you including?
We're allowed 22 players born on 31/12/2002 or earlier. Excluding those who've been offered new deals, we've got 15.
Three players - all above the age limit - have been offered new deals. If they accept them, we can still sign four 'senior' players.

I’m not even getting that many tbh.
remember too clubs can have players on books without them being registered to play and hence counting on numbers.
I have (assuming all sign)
Grimmer, scowen, forino, taf, wheeler, butcher, vokes, leahy, mccleary, low, Hanlan, Sadlier, McCarthy, Lubala, pattenden,
kone, ward, Woodhouse, Clark too young.
Young and Skura poss to add if registered.
still at least five, maybe seven spaces (plus underage loanees).
who have I missed?

I'm getting on the Taylor hype train

Signed a new contract with Amersham last week, think he scored over 70 goals last season
Bugger.
still, Keith Scott signed a new contract just before Reading bought him. *wishfull thinking*
Probably just to get a valuable transfer fee for Amersham when he leaves.
Especially if they had had word the local league team that’s been watching him is about to announce a new owner worth multiple billions.
i’m still wishfull thinking
More the case that at that level they get players to sign contracts so that they can't just give 7 days notice and leave
Thank you @flymofrank
On a par with Richard Kone then. How do Amersham compare, level wise, with Athletic Newham?
Not all footballers want to be full-time. Many who have a decent job and career prospects outside football would rather carry on in that way.

Yes you are right and as we witnessed in the MON days.
