There's been lots of talk of a potential takeover from Mikhail Lomtadze but so far very little substance. I'm adopting a wait-and-see stance on this one. Why he would be want to own a small football club from a Buckinghamshire market town is difficult to comprehend without some elucidation.
In the meantime, we can't keep running at a £3m deficit each season without serious consequences, which as you say is a concern. The departures of high earners does present an opportunity to restructure the wage bill and reduce the losses.
Spot on - we should know who is released/moved on soon enough. The reality is that some will go that we expected to stay, some will stay that we expected to go, but we will have a strong core either way. The only position I am at all concerned about is CB, hoping that we keep at least one of the three permanents.
When you're as rich as he is, its the equivalent of being a sole trader and sponsoring your local pub team. We think its crazy he'd sink so much money into the football league money pit but its chump change for a multi-billionaire.
In fact, I see the appeal of owning a L1 club more than risking huge sums on an established Premier League club with all the stress, media attention and fan expectation that would come with it, when you're already occupied with your primary business interests. But maybe I'm a bit biased!
Given his company floated on the LSE last year, he probably spends a lot of time in London, and its likely if he has a property here its somewhere leafy in North West London (or perhaps even Bucks itself).
I agree. I think from what we know and what we can guess, I am pretty confident that we will have a core of Scowen, Butcher and Leahy in midfield, and Lubala, Hanlan, Kone, Gmac and Sadlier as forwards. Grimmer will stay, and JMac will try to stay, which leaves CB and LB as the only areas with question marks (though I think KVY will probably stay too), as I expect Forino to move on. If you could give me a guarantee on Joe Low, I would be happy to let the rest of the chips fall where they may.
Not in the slightest. You have always come across as a gentlemen in the truest sense of the word. It was a real pleasure to be introduced to you by @NiceCarrots in the Vere Suite back in the day.
In all this discussion, Jasper Pattenden doesn’t appear to have been mentioned. I think he will become a regular next season, not necessarily from the start, and this would leave Jack Grimmer to continue to develop as a central defender, retaining his love of occasionally foraging forward.
Sincerely hope KVY will have a much happier, mainly injury free season.
I’m struggling to remember that unless you’re the guy whose question about the training ground caused a seismic reaction from the Trust Chairman all those years ago.
"I'm adopting a wait-and-see stance on this one. Why he would be want to own a small football club from a Buckinghamshire market town is difficult to comprehend without some elucidation."
Oh, I can help you there. Rob confirmed at a recent q+a it's because he's a great guy and he's fallen in love with the club
"I have someone who I've become a good friend with, Mikhail Lomtadze from Georgia, and he is a fantastic guy who really loves this game, loves Wycombe and wants us to get better"
Whether Lomtadze comes in or not, we still have an obligation to fulfill the FFP criteria. I don't imagine that our revenue will allow to spend that much will it?
p.s. I'm not entirely sure how it works, so somebody feel free to enlighten me.
Given that the EFL has sold another part of its soul for the sake of a bag full of dosh, presumably if our wage bill is cut we will have more money coming in to reduce our losses.
(I do know the only effect of the wonderful new TV deal is that we will have to pay much more for the same quality of players who will improve their wages by a proportionate amount with a similar increase (+10%) for the hard work that their agents do).

I'm looking forward to this being confirmed officially in the near future.
You've always been the sunshine to my grey sky @micra . Some departures can be seen in a positive light too of course (*cough Mr Vokes).

I’d imagine there are several players under contract for next season that we are unaware of due to the club’s secretiveness on contracts.
I liked that. For some reason I always thought you had it in for me.
There’s a Kenneth Williams joke lurking there.

Certainly improved since the tin bath days!

Just to confirm, RC said Lomtadze has fallen in love with the club?
I'm sure he did. When he did that q+a before that Tuesday night game.
Same one where he revealed that Pete and Missy had accidentally resigned from the board. So annoying when that happens, I'm always doing it
Here we go:
"I have someone who I've become a good friend with, Mikhail Lomtadze from Georgia, and he is a fantastic guy who really loves this game, loves Wycombe and wants us to get better"

Cheers! It would be quite something if Lomtadze has genuinely fallen for us.
As if I would ever do a thing like that! *whistles
Well, they do say love works in mysterious ways. It sounds a bit like Cupid was a bit pissed when aiming that arrow.
To be fair there is a lot to love about our club for anyone seeing clearly!
There's no mystery is there? We're close to London and two promotions from the Premier League.
Well, we are by far the greatest team the world has ever seen.
I would go so far as to say the entire universe!
To repeat a quote from a bygone trip to the Abbey Stadium, we've got more chance of reaching Narnia than the Premier League.
All of Matt’s recent interviews has him talking about building this team. Suggests a wholesale clear out is not on his mind. Evolution not revolution
JJ was doing his financial services exams .

With Taffs not playing two games in a row despite rotation, I am beginning to wonder if he is done.
Why would we be playing Forino if he was definitely not signing a new contract?
