Adding in Rotherham 23/24 to the teams who finished worse than us (thanks for the reminder @wwfcblue).
I know Rotherham are called a yo-yo club, but the top of the yo-yo arc usually involves hitting the ceiling and splintering into a thousand pieces. They don't mess around with being on-the-borderline of bad!
On the flip side they seem to do pretty well for a couple of seasons after each relegation. Wasn't this the pattern that some thought we could end up following?
I genuinely think we would have had at least a three year stay if we had stayed up that first year, as the following season was absolutely dreadful at the bottom, with Posh, Derby and Barnsley managing 37/34/30 respectively. Seeing as we had already gained 43 the season before with a dreadful start before finding our feet, we would have earned that third season.
Shoulda coulda woulda, but another reason that relegation was a little heartbreaking.
@Shev A bit similar to the season just gone I suppose, in that we found some form and consistency late in the season, unfortunately just a bit too late to have the desired outcome.

In theory, Wigan could be added for last season with 39 points but that included a 6 point deduction!
I did have them in there, but as 42 points, unless I have it wrong?
I include deductions, as it is too hard to sort otherwise.
Some websites have it as 39 and others 42!
Rotherham now with three of the bottom five.
If Oxford go up we could have a new team on the leaderboard.
Team?

Rotherham fans must hate getting promoted.

If the ideal if, promoted-relegated-promoted with more money and a better idea of how to stay up, Rotherham are stuck in phase one.

Very much agreed! Us and Crystal Palace had very similar seasons in many ways too, aside from us keeping our manager!
