  • Run the number again @Shev, no way we’ve caught the Galacticos.

On PPG we’re ahead of them.

  • It looks like we are currently level with Swann’s boys on points and GD.

As such it is impossible for use to finish level with them now, as if we lose them all out GD will worsen, of course if we don’t lose them all then we’ll have more points than them.

Honest to god, after 7 games I could barely see us getting double figures for the season. Our current tally is remarkable considering.

Think your maths is off there.

  • Peterborough finished the 09/10 season on 34 points and a goal difference of -34.

We currently have 34 points and a goal difference of -34

We can’t end the season on 34 points whilst keeping that goal difference, we either pick up points or ship goals by losing.

We can’t finish level with them, only above or below.

    Ah yeah, gotcha.

  • But we will finish above them in the League this year. :)

    Corrected.

  • One more win and we'll be the best worst team ever!

  • We’re gonna need a bigger table.

  • This is all teams under 40 points only, so the sky is the limit! (Well, 46 points is the limit).

  • @floyd said:

Not quite as lots of scores from 40+ are not listed. Hull went down last season propping up the table with 45 points

  • What's Alan Swann's address ?

  • Some additional points totals to chase down

    45: Bristol City 94-95
    45: Luton 95-96

  • Really tough on the teams who went down with 45 points. Shows how competitive the second tier is.

In 2011-12 Peterborough were relegated with 54 points.

    It was in fact 12-13

If it had to be anyone...

  • So just to summarize. The worst championship team ever now have:

    1. The joint 15th worst points total.
    2. The join 19th worst with 1 more point.
    3. The joint 28th worst with 1 more win.

All this with Uche and Taffs out for the first half, dreadful luck with some refereeing decisions, a Covid stoppage which knocked us off the rails....and a tiny budget of about 10% of the division average.

Has a relegated manager ever won Manager of the Season?

  • Hey @Shev, are you suggesting that GA isn't going to be Manager of the Year?

  • @Twizz said:

  • Nope, I was suggesting we DON'T get relegated and GA DOES get Manager of the Year.

If we don’t get relegated he’s manager of the century.
With what we have, staying up is surely a far greater achievement than going up with what we have.

  • We leapt above Peterborough, Col U and the Franchise in one game.

Take that Swann, McDonut and Winkleman!

    Incredible scenes!

  • We're not even in the bottom division of worst points ever !

If we finish on 43 points we won’t even be in the bottom two divisions!

Such a magnificent effort and it bodes well for next season.

  • Joint 27th worst currently. We'll have to compare goal differences once we see which total we land on!

  • 43 points would be a remarkable achievement.
