  • Gives Peterborough a target to aim for next year.

  • When you think there will be at least one team from this season below us too, it is quite incredible!

I'll have to look at Oldham's goal difference, but for now we are the joint 49th worst team since the second tier went to 46 games. What an embarrassment! Mr. Swann was only 48 spots off!

  • Update: Oldham were only -15. 49th it is!

Great work @Shev - thought I'd help you out...

  • Sheffield Weds 20-21 and Rotherham 20-21 to be added in?

  • Would it be possible for someone more tech savvy than me to take a picture of this and post it on Alan Swann's twitter account ?

    Now updated ?

    Done.

  • I see Peterborough are still stinking up the Championship.

  • We all know they are big fans of points per game so they must be disappointed to see their current PPG is as low as 0.73. Especially if they were to compare it to Wycombe’s at the end of last season which was 0.93.

  • I see as we get close to the half way mark in the season Peterborough are on target of beating their 09-10 points total of 34 - just.
    Well done them. ?

  • Peterborough will be doing very well to beat our 43 points at the current rate of PPG

  • After 26 games Peterborough have 20 points and GD-30, it took us until game 31 to get to 20 points with a 0-0 draw at Millwall.

After 26 games we had 16 points and a GD -22.

How far can they climb the historic chase table:

    43: Wycombe 20-21
    43: Oldham 96-97
    42: Rotherham 20-21
    42: Reading 97-98
    42: Bristol City 98-99
    42: Crewe 05-06
    42: Preston 10-11
    42: Sheff Utd 10-11
    42: Scunthorpe 10-11
    42: Wigan 16-17
    41: Sheffield Weds 20-21
    41: Plymouth 09-10
    41: Bristol City 12-13
    41: Millwall 14-15
    41: Barnsley 17-18
    41: Burton 17-18
    40: Notts County 94-95
    40: QPR 00-01
    40: Milwall 05-06

We are getting close to overtaking the mighty Posh.

They have 21 points after 30 games.

We had 19 at the same point.

After 32 games we had 23 - so two games a way from potentially being ahead.

Double edged sword though, as I would much prefer Posh to beat Derby this weekend, as if Derby stay up it just doesn't sit right.

  • I'm hoping for a meteor strike.

  • Unfortunately I think Derby will stay up, due mainly to the fact that Posh, Reading and Barnsley are all so shit

  • If it had to be two out of the three I'd choose Peterborough and Reading myself

  • Our 43 points would be kicking up quite a stink this season. Looks highly likely the fourth worst team could survive on less than 40 points

I'm with you there. Posh for obvious reasons and Reading are one of those unremarkable bland clubs. Derby staying up will prolong their agony without being able to blame us for any future relegation.

  • Ultimately, unless Derby go under (which none of us want) even relegation to L1 would not really be a long term punishment, just a season or more of whining about slumming it in a tinpot division, while ultimately rising to their natural level again at some point.

I just want us to go up again, and I would happily take every despised club having good things happen to them too, if it meant we were up there.

Posh have now played 32 games and are on 21 points. Two less than we had at the same stage and a vastly worse goal difference.

The real gutting thing is 43 points this season will probably have easily have kept us up

  • Does Alan Swann even write any more? Or does he just suck his thumb and rock in the fetal position while sobbing gently?

  • Probably just busy blaming Wycombe for WW3

  • He’s still churning it out. I’ve got to go to Peterborough in a couple of weeks and am sorely tempted to get some stickers emblazoned with ‘Stinking out the Championship’ to stick on lampposts in my spare time.

PLEASE. Someone also needs to peel off the Peterborough and franchise stickers at High Wycombe station (I couldn't reach).

  • 2 pts from their last 12 league games, 1 point from last 8.
    Bournemouth away next.
If they repeat their last 12 form they’ll draw level with Rotherham with the equal lowest points on 23.

  • I am just disappointed they had a reasonable start, or they could have finished below 20.

  • I must admit though, I am a little worried that Posh just need a point to overtake our points total from last season.

Oh wait...they need a point to overtake HALF our points total from last season. Silly me.

  • Haha! I see this a little like a boxing match, all the bravado and hyperbole that some Posh journalists, McAnthony & supporters gave out about PPG, us and the way it was so unfair is now coming home to roost.
Do your talking on the pitch.
They had a magnificent season last year, spurred on by their perceived injustices of PPG.
I’ve never really disliked Posh and don’t really now, it’s just the lack of decency some of them showed during that season and subsequently. I’m enjoying them being taken down a peg or two, particularly Alan Swann!
