I was amused to read on the Cheltenham forum that not only did the referee give us everything and them nothing (long time no see!) he was overawed and heavily influenced by the big team playing at home.
It might just be a situation that more players are being given experience at taking Penalties ahead of the Cup Final. If you have 5 players who have experienced taking penalties in a game situation, you'll be more confident going into a Penalty shoot-out. Yes, they can train on the training ground but thats only 5/10% of the pressure that you'll encounter in a game.
One thing a uni lecturer did on a subject of pressure and handling emotions, was a penalty shootout however he got 25 students all to put £10 into a pot. Whoever was left at the end was allowed to take the complete pot. Then you had the pressure of winning the money which could pay a month's worth of rent OR over 100 pints at the bar! It was a good experiment!
To be fair, we do need a Jason Cousins or Steve Brown on the pitch. Someone that the players (both our's and away) always goes in hard and our players know not to mess with him.
If you fast forward “Beam us up Scotty” to the lap of honour around Adams Park with the Conference trophy at the point where the team stop in front of the terrace my head appears just beyond the back row looking confused and in the wrong direction clear as day though ( well clear for VHS ).
There’s two iconic Ainsworth photos that are amongst my favourites. The believe sign from Torquay and a more recent one of him standing in front of the terrace, back to the camera, with two thumbs in the air. I did have it saved on my phone somewhere but can’t seem to find it.
At halftime during the Fleetwood game I was set next to fellow season long term season ticket holders and we were saying that we were seriously thinking of relinquishing our season tickets having watched dire football for the best part of a year. Since that point we all feel the football has improved immensely and are once again looking forward to games. The thing is less loyal fans than us have stopped coming and it's going to be hard to get them back. Let's hope they come to Wembley and we put on a good show.

Agreed - you could make a statue display of it and it would be perfect.
If you've got the time here's the whole game (not great quality, but brings back the memories)

Got to be the statue outside the Lomtadze Arena surely. With Bayo and Gaz either side of MON.
The Kaspi Stadium if he names it after his company. And God help us with the new club badge.
My laptop background for the last few years, scenes after Thompson thumped in the injury time winner against Morecambe.
I love Gape tearing at the front of his shirt after scoring against Chesterfield, but I can't find it.
It feels as though we almost need an 'iconic photos' thread at this point!

Best photo during the actual playoff final match?
It’s not a tug-of-war @Wendoverman !!
I suppose if we are going for great works of art this also has everything
An all-timer
Apologies to the Cheltenham fan offended by this post.

Where's the one of Michael Owen (I think) getting rattled by a bunch of our players?
Scroll back to page 9!
Ah yes
An all time classic
The exact moment when it goes from seeming like a good idea to being a really bad one
Loving re-living every one of these photos...!
Love this shot! Brandon’s first goal I think
The ultimate boy band!
Some great photos!
Slightly different to the ones featured so far, as it’s of actual match action, but think this one will always be my favourite!
For sheer athleticism:

There you go @Gary
