Needed that. We were the better side for the majority of the game but we were a little rattled after the penalty save. However everything went well at the end and a cracking goal from Beryl.
We did that last game. I give Vokes a fair bit of stick, and I do think this is probably his last season, but he was excellent today and him going off had nothing to do with either goal. Play him when it tactically makes sense, which today it definitely did. Cheltenham sat so deep we didn’t need anyone with pace up front, we needed someone to outmuscle a strong defence for as long as possible.
Delighted to see him back in goal for the next two as well - hopefully two more clean sheets and cements his place as first choice keeper. Much like Stockdale did when provided with the opportunity in the Championship season.
Pleased with that tonight kept going against well drilled opposition with an inspired goalkeeper. Deserved the win, got it and a great first goal from Bez. No complaints from me.
A conspiracy theorist might think that Matt was quite pleased to have a chance to play another keeper without incurring the wrath of Mad Max and his Big Dog.
Fortunately I'm not one of those. I assume we appealed and we lost, for whatever reason.
People are undeniably voting with their feet. The attendance is very poor. Like another poster mentioned, it’s even more worrying against a backdrop of growing attendances across the EFL.
We have played better this season on multiples occasions (at least five) and have lost those games. Anyway, a bit surprised to see so many of you picking fights against those who disagree with you. Bed wetting if you ask me.
Missed this one, but the thread was quite a read! It's very nice to have some late goals (for once) and get into the 40s. There is something about 50 being within reach that is a little calming, as opposed to being marooned in the 30s.
With our goal difference, there is every chance 50 points could be enough.
I do wonder whether the subscription style season ticket has had an impact on attendance as with fans renewals coming up mid season and fans deciding for a variety of reasons (cost, poor run of form, bad weather) deciding to delay or not renew. Whereas previously you were in for the season with a season ticket and close / pre season optimism encouraged renewal
Points the 21st team was relegated with the past ten years. All between 40-50. Unfortunately this is a more even season, so I am expecting the upper end for sure.
3 points tonight was good but still don’t understand why Blooms keeps taking Sadlier off. Sadlier certainly wasn’t injured as he was not too happy about being taken off yet again.
If you ask me...for a footballer (as I have to be careful in modern day society about offending people), I'd say he looks like he's not of the ideal physique for a winger. Whilst technically brilliant, I'd say he's got another gear and he is unable to reach that because he looks slightly unfit.
Just my opinion but I'm 100% certain MB doesn't think "oh I know, let's take our most dangerous player off, that will work".
I wonder how much impact calling the game off on a Saturday due to having two first teamers on international duty and playing it on a cold Tuesday has had?

The Piers Morgan response. Oh dear.
Posh going well.
Get in
Two late goals for Fleetwood at Port Vale mean we’re eight points clear of the relegation zone.
At last Vokes off and we score he is too slow now and past it ,bring on the youngsters Kone and Labala to start next game please
I find it very worrying when nearly all other teams in the EFL are seeing increased crowds.
I think that was our third lowest gate at Level 3 in over 360 games
In fact apart from Charlton winning (and Carlisle but they don’t really count) the results for the teams below is couldn’t have gone better.
Labalas goal was worth the entrance fee alone.
Charlton won ?! My brother will be turning in his grave.

And I’m in bed by ten
Night night.

And lo, he was okay.

What? Important 3 points against poor opposition but the football isn’t great.
It is actually worrying. I saw 3 lads in the gym tonight with Wycombe shirts on.
All 4 of us for whatever reason decided that the gym was better value for money/warmth.

3 wins, 0 draws, 9 defeats.
2 wins, 3 draws, 7 defeats.
Both of those sound doable.
Saw one young lad in the gym tonight wearing a Kevin Keegan style England shirt. Great kit that was, the team less so.

The active encouragement from the club to stay home and watch on WTV can’t have helped.

However, we did win.
I know a few who watch midweeks at home now.
If Sadlier had started all season I think he would be on a shortlist for POTS along with Scowen, Low and Potts.
