Hmm, not sure. Gaz is a manager than needs time with the player around him imho. It’s why QPR was a poison chalice because I think we all saw he was never going to get the time he would need.
He makes a team better than the sum of its parts but it takes him time. I’m not convinced half a season would do it and if there’s no obligation come the end of the season and it’s no better than when he came in we’ll all just remember the wet fart of his return.
I’m very angry, I never wanted Matt in the first place. We needed an experienced manager to move us on. I do believe it’s more than just Matt, it’s his coaching team as well.
This is genuinely appalling. The longer he stays, the nastier it will get.
How flat is the atmosphere at Adams Park these days? The emergence (and almost immediate disappearance) of "The 1887" coupled with poor results, and dwindling attendances is certainly thinning us out to just the die hards.
There’s goals in this team. There are attacking options galore. Saddlier and GMac along with Potts are a dream. When you play a team so devoid of attacking intent the goal threat dissipates. When you take off the best creative outlet with 20 to go you are not waving the white flag you are making a mistake. Plain and simple.
Let’s look at the back. Forino, Taff and Low get into every team in our league. Then look at their goal yesterday. We are making good players bad. No one challenges for the first ball, those three all going for it. It’s a shambles. And that in one 30 second snippet sums up this team. Less than the sum of the parts.
You’d certainly hope so,but people have a short term memory and go to the most recent memory.
And perhaps kinda quite rightly so. Because otherwise the 20 years as a player would trump the 1 win in 15, or a 26% win ratio we’re currently discussing.
That's some truly unreal positivity there. On our day we could spank a Fleetwood or bottom 4 yes. But there's no chance we're spanking any of the top teams.
Scrape a narrow win maybe but smashfest? No chance.
The last 6 games form guide shows that we are outperforming the league leaders. Picking up more points than the pacesetters clearly shows that we are on an upward trajectory! The playoffs may not be out of our reach. Just before half time a lady somehow carried four cups of tea the whole length of the pitch, balancing two in each hand. It was the greatest display of composure yesterday afternoon. Her hands remained steady under the intense gaze of the Frank Adams. If we can produce the same sort of success that she provided in our next few games then I think we'll be OK. I'm a huge optimist when it comes to the blues and try and see the positives rather than get too angry about the negatives. It is just a game. I thought we played really well yesterday for the vast majority of the match. Although, I do agree that our formation became a little jumbled in the final moments, but Lincoln were excellent in the last quarter.
Yes I'm surprised the post with that comment in got so many likes.
We barely look capable of scoring a goal and our key vets aren't the level they were 2 years ago.
Throw in Mehmeti, Mawson, Uche, some of the champs loanees, peak right back McCarthy, Stockdale, peak JJ, Stewart and we've definitely had a stronger squad before.
Looking at the bigger picture you would think that all football clubs would by now have a legally binding poor performance clause included in any managers contract. Such a clause would allow the club to part ways with a 3 months notice payment for instance.
It always amazes me that a football manager can do an absolute terrible job and then get full payment for the duration of his/her contract.
Would it be possible for those posting that Blooms should be sacked over and over again to start each post with #bloomsoutagain so we can skip past those and just read the interesting posts?
Explain how it's not. We have far more very young inexperienced players then we ever had before. We had JJ who bagged assists for fun, we generally don't now. GMac was younger, so was Vokes, and before that we had Bayo. Fred/Mehmeti are way ahead of Sadlier.
This squad has the most potential perhaps, but is the weakest as it stands. Experienced counts for an enormous amount in football. It's how we use to be so well organised.
Imagine Curtis Thompson coming off the bench yesterday rather that Phillips, or Gape or Freeman. That's a 1-0 win rather than 1-1.
We didn't have GMac, Vokes or Mehmeti when we came up from League 2...
There's considerably more quality in this squad than the squad of 2018/19. And we've still got an abundance of experience, so I don't buy that argument. Experience doesn't count for nearly as much as some seem to think, either - there are countless examples of young teams enjoying great success.
A good manager would have this squad well clear of relegation trouble.
The only way Blooms is getting sacked is if the new 'investor' passes the EFL fit and proper persons test and takes control of the club. RC doesn't have the money or the inclination to replace him.
With the exception of JJ, that entire back 4 is weaker for starters. Scowen would ordinarily be in the team, which would put yesterday's midfield at least on a par. And you can't seriously think an attack of Freeman-veteran Tyson-PCH is better than GMac-Vokes-Sadlier?
I don’t think anyone’s got their head in the sand. No one is enjoying this, no one thinks this is acceptable, everyone is worried about what the final third of the season holds.

I'd like to think what he did for us over 10+ years would mean it would take one hell of a wet fart return for it to tarnish his legacy
11 wins in 42 games
Win percentage 26.19

Under Ainsworth in the 2021/22 season (finished 6th) we only "lost" the last 15 minutes 6 times in 46 games.
Under Bloomfield this season it's 9 times out of 26.
You’d certainly hope so,but people have a short term memory and go to the most recent memory.

Unless we absolutely nosedive into the bottom 4 I'd stick it out with Bloomfield this season.
Gives him a 4month trial to show that we can turn it around and also gives Gareth time to find himself with his singing etc.
I doubt he'd want to step back in mid season like this. Would definitely make more sense to give him a pre season.
Again all with the disclaimer we don't lose 6 or 7 in a row.and end up in the bottom 4. That gets really dangerous.
Equally, it's definitely not 'the weakest squad since League Two'. It's a good squad - not a great one but certainly an underachieving one.
It’s one of the most expensive squads we’ve had, certainly compared with pre Championship.

Yep that's fair.
Attack wise it all looks a bit bare.
Sadlier and McCleary are decent wingers, albeit McCleary well down on his threat a few years back.
But then who subs in for either of them in the same system? No-one. Same with Vokes really.
Kone Is promising but we mustn't get carried away there.

Agreed.
Heads in the sand.
Nearest game in 18/19.

I'd take that lineup over yesterday without any hesitation and look at the bench.

Admittedly GMac has dropped off quite considerably, but this is a better team. And need I point out that we only just stayed up that season...
Sadly Curtis and Dom would have to come off the treatment table - which is why we said farewell.
I don’t think anyone’s got their head in the sand. No one is enjoying this, no one thinks this is acceptable, everyone is worried about what the final third of the season holds.
No, but people are reluctant to address the elephant in the dressing room.
yes it was, so why was the second Half so difficult?
We got 53 points that season, I reckon we'll get less than that this season.
