Gawd that turned quickly. Not sure even the lavishly pensioned @glasshalffull was demanding you stop spending time with your kids, paying your bills or buying shoes in order to watch League One football in his post @Frenchfry .
If we have to factor in the relative salaries/pensions of fellow posters before expressing opinion I demand a spreadsheet...I mean I know @glasshalffull and @bargepole are probably in the top tax bracket.... 😉
@username123 I was incorrect and Dobbo did show (doesn’t make it right) but, at the risk of coming over all Bargie, point of order - not in the ’next week or two’ as you suggested😉
It's all to do with how his contract with Sky was drafted. The Court ruled, correctly in my view, that he was a 'disguised employee', and therefore liable for the £350k tax bill. Self employed contracts need to be drafted carefully to avoid this, and in this case it was far too late for any assistance from me.
I will never underestimate how difficult it can be for some people to afford to go to football and I said exactly that in an earlier post. I totally understand and sympathise with your dilemma. However, what I wrote was that I find it sad that some fans are turning their backs on the Morecambe game because of the poor performance against Reading. None of those posters mentioned cost as a reason for not attending the FA Cup tie.
Incidentally, for the record I do not receive a pension from Sky and had none of the other benefits of being a staff member like paid holidays, health insurance, access to reduced priced shares in the company etc.
Its a lot easier to pay out the money when you know you're off to see something great - when you go to the theatre or cinema you know what you're going to get - football doesn't have that luxury.
So, realistically, i couldn't afford to go this week, however i really miss coming to Adams Park on a regular basis and i chose a local derby to come to, hoping that even if the game was poor then the atmosphere would be great. I was so excited and had a lovely meet up with some friends.
So, my choice for next week is do i come or not ?
Having had great fa cup days against the likes of Slough Town and West Brom and more recently Bromsgrove with Bayo's neck stretching header - i have a huge love of the fa cup .
The only reason for me to cone next week is loyalty.
You say "people aren't coming because of last weeks performance" - yes, you are right, but obviously its cost as well.
If it were free, then the majority of those who are local and are not coming would no doubt come.
So, it' surprisingly niave of you to think that cost hasn't come into probably 90% of peoples decisions for next week. Maybe its not the main factor, however its a big contributory factor.
I was not being naive, I was simply stating that the reason a number of posters gave for not planning to go to the Morecambe game was the display against Reading. I’m sure money is a factor but it was not the reason they gave.

Leave me alone with my tantrum. I’ll be there. I’m always there. Just don’t spoil my toys out the pram moment just yet.
Not sure if anyone mentioned it yet, but Dobbo was at the game on Saturday with Sam Grace. Unfortunately that will add fuel to the fire of some fans!
Yes!! Please allow me to just drop these screenshots below from a month or so back 😂

Mr Parry has bills to pay like the rest of us @Frenchfry. Should have employed Bargie on his case!

Yes, and every time I see a Royal Navy ship at sea, I remind myself that I helped to pay for it ...
I've said it before - give that man a job asap!
I believe there are plans to bring the youth team back. I’d imagine Dobbo will be offered that job if it comes to fruition.
What about when you see a dinghy?
If Dobbo was loyal enough to GA to follow him out of Wycombe, I also expect him to be GA's #2 at his next stop, unless GA goes into media punditry.
Is Dobbo going to be the bassist, keyboardist or drummer?
Looks like he'll be doing a 'Bez' with some maracas if Ainsworth is serious about his music.
I love Gaz, but based on what I have seen, his band are not going to be the next big thing!
it's a young man's game...though I understand you can make a decent living as a touring band in the USA
They said that in the early days of Status Quo. They have now gone on to sell over 118 million records!
But they were not just rocking in America. They were rocking all over the world.
@mooneyman not sure you can equate Gaz with the innovative denim clad 1970s head down no nonsense three chord mindless boogie rebirth of the Quo.
Build it and they will come, pay with magic beans.

IR35 is shit and Sky ripped you off.
If you pretend you don't work there for tax purposes why would you?
But HMRC claimed I was on the staff, that is the whole point.
Respectfully, Cost is always a factor !!!

Come along. It's a league 2 team so we might have a chance!
Need some gallows humour after that sickener tonight!

😂😂 my missus could only dream she was Mrs. Taffazoli!
I’ve just been watching the games through an objective set of eyes!
Well, I think you should give them back to Taff's wife.
