Wow! I guess they realized that they had to move quickly and decisively if they wanted to land the manager who has led DC United to the (checks notes) 21st best record in Major League Soccer.
Albania have improved recently and they have a strong midfield and attacking line even without the injured Broja.
Albania beat the Czechs 3-0 last night (Poland 2-0 in the last qualifying game) to all but qualify as they need one point from two games against Moldova and the Faroes.
Even if Anis was playing regularly at Championship level he might struggle to get in the squad. It doesn’t help either that the lad who’s playing in his position is on fire having scored in three of their six qualifiers including against Poland and the Czechs.
Just my attempt at humour that probably earned the reaction it deserved. Anyway I don’t know @wwfcblue or what he does for a living but whatever it is, whether or not football, I hope he gets a kick from it.
Notts County remain top of League Two despite having conceded 25 goals - that's more than any other side in that league apart from Sutton (26) who kept a clean sheet against us.
Post-match interview with Marc White, Dorking Wanderers founder, owner, chairman and manager, after their shock 2-0 defeat to Horsham in the FA Cup yesterday.
I have never heard such criticism of his players by a manager, nor quite so many swear words! Good, honest stuff.
I watched a Netflix/Amazon documentary on him as he had Calum Best (son of the late George Best), as his overseer of the Dorking ladies team. Thought he wasn't the best human being then and that interview hasn't changed my view. Must have made a few quid, but heaven knows how? 🤷♂️
He's odd but must know something about football and people to take them from mates in the park to being just outside the league, doesn't appear he has just chucked money at it, but has found solutions and got his hands dirty.
I find it hard to believe that Jordan Henderson and Gareth Southgate don't understand why he was booed at the weekend. I find it harder to understand why someone playing in front of 3000 in a poor quality league is still playing for England.

Interesting rumours circulating that John Eustace could come in to replace Ainsworth. Used to be no 2 at QPR previously.
Fun fact:
Managers of the 92 who have been in the job a year or more: 45
Managers of the 92 who have been in the job less than a year: 47
Also, to update a recent comment:
Gareth Ainsworth's tenure ranking (230 days on the job): 59th
Matt Bloomfield's tenure ranking (230 days on the job): 60th
Blooms is about two months away from being in the top half for tenure at this rate!
And they are paying Rooney three times what Eustace was getting. Popcorn time.

He's favourite for the other Rangers job.

Albania have all but qualified for the Euros. If Anis misses out...

He’ll be back at AP come January.
Out of interest @wwfcblue - do you work in football?
obviously a well rounded individual….
No, just take an interest in anything football related at all levels from Wilks Park recently to the Giuseppe Meazza the week after next.
Thanks, I was just curious as you always seem very knowledgable.
Been eating too many crisps!

No that's the Stevenage boss...
Backhanded insult to the rest of the board from our overlord there, entirely correct in my case no doubt.

And Gillingham are fourth despite being the joint lowest scorers in the league.
Good to see MK pick up a routine 2-0 home win against Barrow.
What's that? Barrow scored in the 94th and 96th minutes to equalize? 🤣
Jordon Ibe signs for Ebbsfleet. Wish him all the best but what a fall from grace. Such a waste of a talent. Too much too soon I think.
Stevenage getting walloped 3-0 by Blackpool makes the, albeit irrelevant at this stage, table look prettier.

He is a "character" has had some interviews around stuff like coaching badges, refreshing in some ways but not always pleasant.
I've seen quite a few clips and interviews of him, tbh, imo comes across as a right dick
Definitely a "character".

he's not my cup of tea

He’s only been playing in the Saudi league for 2 months so unlikely to have suddenly become a poor player.
All the big names in the Saudi league have played for their respective country this week, apart from the retired Benzema
