Stoke hoovered up Barca's rejects for a while, wasn't there some weird stat that atleast one member of their squad that got relegated featured in a Champions League semi final each year for the best part of 15 years
It's more the fact he's one of the best young players in the world and Brighton have beaten several of the big boys. And Barca are absolute mugs for letting him go.
Don't think he's been anywhere near what he was when he first burst through recently, they're trying to get him off the books to register others. It's only a loan so win win for them if he has a good season.

They had Bojan and someone else, but Ansu is on a different level. Barca have just been impatient with his injuries.

Ah, I'd thought it was permanent. Still, Brighton really know how to rebuild again and again - Kudus another incredible signing.
No, wait, he's gone to West Ham - who have also had a really strong window.
Sam Nombe moves from Exeter to Rotherham for a reported fee of £1m.
You have to take your hat off to Exeter for their development of young talent - both through their academy and players bought in.
Definitely their standout player, you also have to take your hat off to whoever negotiates at Exeter too.
I think they’ve pocketed about £3.5M now since the start of the season with the two sales and sell on fee.
They seem to make at least £1-1.5M a season through sales or sell on clauses, this season has been particularly lucrative though.
Hats off to them and their Trust.
If you took pound-for-pound best run clubs, Exeter would be in the Premier League, and I think there is a fair shout that we would be there too.
Some big names here https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/exeter-city/rekordabgaenge/verein/6699
Interestingly those fees must include sell on fees
Yeah, looks like it - they got a decent chunk when Watkins went to Villa
Wheeler, Vinnicombe, Devine, Golbourne.
Not sure about this Mackie chap though.

Brighton drawn in a Europa League group with Marseilles, Ajax and AEK. Dream stuff.
All the aways can be reached by ferry
Brighton to AEK Athens. That's got to be an overnight ferry, right?
A week long party cruise on one of Tony Bloom's vessels I imagine
A Bergkamp will be delighted
Wakeley's injury will require surgery per Ebbsfleet. Poor lad - I wish him well.
Bergkamp signs for Brighton?
Villa, meanwhile, drawn into the group of ultras in the Conference League
Kenilworth Road in the Premier League just doesn't look remotely real. Brilliant.
Got to be better from a distance.
Bergkamp could never fly so that group would be perfect .
I got it mate!
What happened?
