Just in a few posts you've got a long list of reasons why VAR is a bad fit for football, causes a range of issues not forseen by many, fails in many cases to do it's basic job, detracts from fans enjoyment and adds rather than subtracts certainty in refereeing.
I'm failing at this point to see much in the positive column despite a lot of suggestion that it could probably be done better.
Any rational sport or governing body would put it in the bin, so I'd imagine we're stuck with it for life.
I'd like to see it at least return to only being used when the VAR spots the ref definitely got it wrong, not just that it's questionable, and have more screens and better explanation. That and a big drive to get players to get on with it and learn some manners and some respect. You don't see them screaming for their teammates to be sacked because they miss a goal or a clearance.
So in the Newcastle - Liverpool game yesterday, Trent got booked for dissent a few minutes in, then committed what would ordinarily be a bookable offence a few minutes later, but didn't get sent off seemingly because it was too early in the game.
That's still one of the most frustrating things for me, and something they should really be clamping down on - as it is, players can still get away with too much early on in games.
The Luis Rubiales saga has taken some wild new turns: his mum has locked herself in the local church and gone on hunger strike (yes, really), and the Spanish FA are asking UEFA to suspend them (yes, really) because of 'government intervention' in the bid to remove Rubiales - so Spanish clubs could potentially be banned from European competition.
All because some creepy bloke couldn't behave himself.
I don't think that is why he didn't give the second yellow - I think it was because he hadn't given one to Gordon for doing exactly the same thing to TAA. If he didn't give one to Gordon, then TAA shouldn't get one either.
Where does a club that's already desperately tried Sam Allardyce, Sean Dyche and optimistically tried Marco Silva and Carlo Ancelotti go next? Therapy?
Try Potter, lose on sat and he's under massive pressure. OK we shouldn't have lost against Fulham or Wolves but we did and both at home.
Hopefully this Beto is decent. Once again we'll be relying on their being 3 other shitter teams than us, Luton, Sheff Utd, then Burnley/fulham/Bournemouth/wolves and us battling it out for the other spot.
Interesting thoughts! Everton may be fortunate there are such clear relegation fodder teams this season in Luton and Sheffield United. If this Everton team is in last year's league, they are possibly coming bottom.

I'll never look at this HRMC hardball towards small clubs the same way ever again after they let Derby pay practically nothing in taxes owed.
So they would rather spend money appealing against the points deduction, than paying HMRC.

Here's Mike Dean making the situation even worse https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1695399073174462505?t=A9JrULBhEvduTgzzbMAvFA&s=19
United 2-0 at home to Forest inside 4 minutes ๐
Wonderful to see !!
Southampton 1 QPR 0.
Now it's 1-1.
H/T Posh 1 Derby 4.
On QPR forum: "Under GA the workrate is the best it has been since Warnock." So now they are starting to realize.
I suspect Var will save the day for the Mancs buy good to see Cooper's boys pushing on from last season.
Southampton 2 QPR 1.
Order is restored
Luckily losing at Man U does not define the season for teams like Forest!
My word, what a save this is https://twitter.com/goalkeepersanon/status/1695460402002297162?t=Wg9Tb1W3TjbX3vX7AjbJJQ&s=19
Top commentary too.

And if the new directive was really being enforced properly, we'd already have seen goalkeepers sent off for time-wasting.
Thankfully it's not!
I actually watched that game yesterday, Trent should've been off, the ref totally bottled it.

The manager job centre has just opened for business. Dean Holden was sacked this morning. Not even seen out Aug and he's already gone
Sean Dyche next?

Aldershot have used 3 goalkeepers in about an hour!
Joey Barton!
