So the PGMOL have apologised to Wolves (I'm sure that makes them feel a whole lot better) and the officials responsible have been taken off duty for this weekend. But then what? We never actually seem to get anywhere with the shocking standard of refereeing in this country.
This is where the problem lies. I completely agree that VAR should clear up the clear and obvious errors but to say the standard of refereeing in this country is shocking is way over the top.
it’s a very difficult job as it is, let alone with the culture of constant abuse & criticism from the majority of stakeholders (manager, chairman, fans, media and players).
referees make mistakes, as do the players etc, etc.
Its nothing short of constant bullying and I can’t believe we haven’t got more of a grip on it.
We don’t see this abuse in other sports. Humans make mistakes…
The issue comes from the lack of communication. If a referee was allowed to come out and explain their actions or the actions of their team then I think we will be more accepting. But as they are hidden from sight and someone speaks on their behalf then noone really has any idea why a decision was/wasn't made.
Leatherhead Club Captain Dave Tarpey is going on loan to Hungerford Town because five of the Tanners' next seven games are on artificial pitches, and he is recovering from knee surgery. "Dave is not comfortable playing on 4G".
No goals, one shot on target and 26 minutes of added time at Pompey v Cheltenham. Ref for injured, replaced by the fourth official who then also got injured.
After today’s game my wife and I went to our local bar in Little Chalfont, also in the bar was three QPR fans with club colours on having returned from their game against Ipswich. Had a chat with them regarding Gareth’s progress. The reaction was not as I expected. They said he has brought players in with no fees involved, they also said the club was ‘ all over the place ‘ financially and organisation wise. Also they said he deserves a season at least as manager to mould his team.. Even if QPR get relegated he is the man to get them back in the championship. All three recognise him as a honest hard working individual doing what he can do for the club. After negative comments quoted on this forum it was refreshing that these three had a positive attitude for QPR’s future under Gareth’s management.
But Chelsea will get there - they just need to, like, stop making signings for a while. I still want them to fail, but Poch's presence had made me turn down the hate ever so slightly...

Love the absolutely mortified eyes on the main presenter there!
Who is that reporter? Bizarre. Second language misunderstanding or something?
Melissa Reddy. She's South African, so I don't think so!

Good luck fitting that into a chant! https://twitter.com/KaizerChiefs/status/1692108800919023996
They will have to find him a nickname soon or their twitters aren't going to be really short whenever he's involved!

"Enero Febrero, I don't understand / Why it is you say you're leaving / Then you turn around"
Sadly, Barbara Dickson never got as far as Marzo, Abril, Mayo or beyond.
I predict a riot.

Interesting to read Wigan beat Bolton 4-0 with only 37% possession
And Bolton had 20 shots on goal!
Wrexham - Swindon looks entertaining: 3-4 after 55 minutes!
Unlike League 1 - Grand total of 4 first half goals in 11 matches
QPR 0 Ipswich 1.
Abso.utely bonkers result. Wrexham had 28 shots (13 on target) against Swindon's 8 (6 on target)

Very harsh red card for Alexis Mac Allister
@ReturnToSenda How is that gentle tug in the Brentford Fulham game a penalty but the GBH in the Man U Tottenham game not?
I have my thoughts...
I'm actually impressed that Everton have managed to get even worse over the summer. Some absolute playground defending on show today.
Moises Caicedo has just had a right old stinker of a debut for Chelsea. Not worth £100m yet...
£200+ midfield lose to a 10man West Ham, whose 3rd goal is scored by a guy who'll be suspended soon.
The premier league in a nutshell.
Paqueta suspended? What did I miss?

Type "Paqueta allegations" into google.
And you'll see why City have instantly dropped their interest.
