Jack the Lad is one of my heroes. mrs micra has taken to him to such an extent that she actually sits and watches Man City and England matches with me - sometimes for as long as half an hour.
The future is bright for Gibraltar. Their U21s took the lead inside 3 minutes against Moldova in today's game (in progress). Lovely run from Liam Jessop (currently in Fleetwood Town's International Academy) and a nice flick with the outside of the boot for Dylan Borge to scramble in.
Yeah. In Gibraltar's defence there were a lot of debutants and most of them were 17/18. Even if it was a relatively weak Moldova, their players were all 20-21 already which makes a big difference at this level.
The Moldova team where nearly two years to a man (against boys) older. Seven of the Gibraltar starting 11 are still young enough to play for the U18's. Did you watch on Youtube or lucky enough to be at VS.
Still stand by my statement that Liam Jessop is worth keeping an eye on though, constant thorn in the side of the much older Moldova U21 defence. Apparently the uncertainty at Fleetwood means he's looking at other clubs now so if he's willing to move down south, maybe Wycombe should go for him.
Jaiden Bartolo was apparently set to join Watford last season too but paperwork issues meant it fell through.
We must have started third from bottom the year Luton and Bournemouth got points deductions in L2. Maybe even fourth from bottom if York were still in the league then!
Somewhere in the gasroom archives I said this would happen, although it wasn't really a hard prediction to make. Easily the best player I've ever seen play for WWFC.
Couple of Gibraltar players done alright against France. Only 3-0 of which one goal was an OG and the other was a controversial pen. 18 year old Nico Pozo was solid in midfield (currently at La Liga side Cadiz, should chase a loan for first team football imo). Ayoub El Hmidi was bright on his debut and even had a very audacious lob narrowly miss.
Gary O'Neil dumped by the Cherries after survival battle. Another young English coach not trusted by owners. I assume if we had the money, that would have been Gaz after Torquay.
The owner just won a Stanley Cup with the Vegas Golden Knights after being similarly ruthless over the last few years. However, football is a very different beast from salary cap sports. Noone wants to be Watford...even Watford.
A bit of a surprise!!! Football management is certainly a precarious occupation. Doesn’t matter if you do well , you can still be dumped. Only compensation is you get your contract paid up.
Well & truly into silly season; both O'Niell & Moore deserved at least a shot at another season; Though I don't think either will be out of work for long, as they both proved themselves.

It eases the guilt.

A 3-1 loss at Victoria Stadium against a weak Moldovan U21's. Looks very hot in Gib on the astro.
Moldova not won an U21's game for nearly two years apart from two wins (now three) against Gibraltar U21's

Seems like movement at QPR. Talk of Ferdinand leaving and Mark Warburton coming in as DoF.
Most QPR fans I know rated Warburton, and were disappointed when he left.
Absolutely, and since their capitulation since he left a couple of seasons ago, many are wondering why he was ever let go.
If it is true - can't be a good thing having an admired manager hovering above GA's job
Pretty sure I remember reading that Warburton and Gareth get on very well.
Or was that my imagination.
Warburton was Brentford manager during the days of Mawson, Yennaris etc, so probably the case.
well, that is a bonus for him
And it can't be any worse than having Les Ferdinand hanging around.
I hope it all works out for Gareth and Dobbo.
While they might be great pals, Waddock and Gaz were great pals too, and we know how that panned out.
So I agree more with @prufrock_91 and his first comment!
However, at least Gareth walked into QPR eyes wide open, and has a meaty length contract to fall back on if the worst did happen.
Reading in trouble yet again. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65929124
Seems we could start the season 3rd from bottom. That must be a first.

Ferdinand has indeed left QPR.
Franchise being tragic has made the cover of the new FourFourTwo
Great to see Eze make his England debut.

Congrats to Eze! From L2 bangers at Cambridge to an England shirt!

Darren Moore leaves Sheffield Wednesday. Bit of a surprise.

Darren Moore - wtf?! I don't understand football at all sometimes.
That's brave! Could be subject to a future "this aged well" type response
