We have taken.players on whose parent clubs thought they were done. I'm.pleased for AAH but was not surprised to see him go. It was a decision by Gaz and Dobbo which may prove to be unwise in hindsight but it was a decision that I don't recall too many claiming to be an unmitigated disaster at the time.
Remember Kashket was deadly in L2 also for a while, but was never really a top striker in the second or third tiers. We'll only ever know AAH is "the one who got away" if he does it at a higher level.
I can only assume that to be the case, AAH was what I can only describe as “Hanlan-esque” in terms of his aerial presence - which means he was never really going to fit in as our lone frontman.
But he looked his best with the ball at his feet and taking on defenders - qualities which, if you can do all that and finish, are pretty rare in L2.
Perhaps we’ve all blocked it from our collective memory, but you can get away with some absolutely horrendous defensive lapses in L2 as the standard of finishing is generally so ropey.
Conversely, if you can actually hit the target pretty consistently as a striker in L2, your chances of scoring are decent, given the relative lack of anticipation and dodgy positional sense of a good few L2 defenders.
Kevin Keen coaches West Ham to victory in the FA Youth Cup final - 5-1 over Arsenal. “This is my 40th year in football and that’s the proudest I’ve ever been."
Always had him pegged as a future Wycombe manager. I think he came close once before but looks like he has done a great job at the 'ammers youth set up
If Rocky had a bubbly personality he would be remembered a lot more fondly, and his saves in the playoff final would be the stuff of legend (to me they already are).
Great to hear Eze talking after Palace's 4-3 win v West Ham (he won and scored a pen for their fourth goal). One of their main men since Hodgson came back in.

Or Wombles are playing to his strengths not hoofing it high into the box?
Equally, it's entirely possible that we dropped an absolute bollock with AAH - but it happens to even the very best clubs. Hindsight is a bitch.
I'm like you.
He could score seventy thousand goals in league 2 and I'll still be "yeah but that's league 2"
We'll see how things pan out.

Some players just experience the Dwight Gayle effect: too good for one division, not good enough for the one above.
Darren Huckerby was a classic example of that
Scott Rendell and Totton won their league on Saturday - effectively second division of the Southern League (tier 8 overall)
Wonder if he will be seen at Cressex over the summer....
Ali Al Hamadi wins League Two player of the month.

Aaron Pierre scores for AFC Wimbledon.
John Akinde scores for Col U.
Now sent off.
Did he headbutt a fan?
The commotion with that pic of that dot of strawberry jam on that "fan's" face feels like so long ago now doesn't it?
2017/18 run-in, was it?
Wait, no, must have been 16/17.
The years all fuse into one another to be honest.
But I always did wonder how weak a "headbutt" it must have been to produce so little result.
I only said 'What oh Mr Pierre your play was somewhat lacklustre today...'
Good to see Bayo being given the Sir Tom Finney Award at the EFL awards ceremony

Bayo was a pundit for BT on Forest - Brighton tonight
Ryan Allsop out for the rest of the season injured. Cardiff playing right now to try and help him avoid three relegations in a row.
He has done very well for himself, though - he is a respected Championship level keeper now.
Most of their fans are berating him. I’d argue at least half of the League 1 goalkeepers this season looked better than him at Wycombe.
12 clean sheets for a relegation candidate is not bad going.
Except for ours...the worst keeper in League One apparently. 😉
Goalkeeper is a very unforgiving position and Rocky did alright for us.

But having now seen the pen... West Ham have been royally screwed by VAR there.
