Second placed Ruislip Rangers had a thumping 9-0 win today. Its all going to come down to when these teams meet, game not scheduled yet. There are still a lot of games to play in this division.
Congratulations to Abingdon United who beat Ascot United 2-0 today in the SRWFL Premier, and so are crowned champions. They gain promotion to the National League.
Woodley United were also confirmed as champions of Division One North today.
For the Reserves yesterday, Shannon Read scored for the sixth game in a row, Molly Carter scored the other. POTM was Emily Norfolk, who was co-commentator for BBC 3CR at the Derby game.
This weekend the U18s have no fixture, the next one is on 4th March.
On Sunday the Firsts are away to Bournemouth Sports in the League Cup Quarter-Final. Bournemouth, who won the reverse fixture 1-0 in October, had a bright start to the season but have been inconsistent in recent weeks. Kick-off 2pm at Bournemouth Sports FC, Chapel Gate, West Parley, Bournemouth BH23 6BD.
Also on Sunday the Reserves host S4K FC Berks County Ladies in the league. The Fawkes are based in Bracknell and were champions of D3S last season. They lost 3-2 to the Chairgirls in November. Kick-off 2pm at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
Final score confirmed as 1-0 to the Firsts, with a second half goal from Esmee Sword.
A second successive clean sheet away from home. In the semi-final they will meet Ascot United, who beat Eversley & California 7-0 in their tie. Venue to be decided.
On Sunday the Firsts play their final home league game, against Winchester City Flyers. The Chairgirls kicked off the season with a 1-0 win at the Flyers, who are are bottom with three points from only eight games played.
The Chairgirls need three points from their final two games, to overtake Oxford City, who have completed their season, and to be sure of avoiding relegation. Kick-off 2pm at The 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG. The game will be promoting the 'Football v Homophobia' campaign.
Also on Sunday, the Reserves look for their eighth straight league win as they travel to Barton United, who they beat 2-0 on the opening day. Kick-off 2pm at Barton Village Road Recreation Ground, Headington, OX3 9LA.
HT 1-0, goals from Freya Harris, Sophie Attfield and Esmee Sword. A fourth win on the bounce in all competitions, which moves them above Oxford City and guarantees a finish above the bottom two relegation places. It is also the third clean sheet in a row.
Coming up this weekend. The U18s are back in action tomorrow, after three weeks off, when they make the long journey to Notts County. The Chairgirls won the reverse fixture 2-0 in January. Last week County beat XL Football 1-0, to move one point above the Chairgirls. Kick-off 10:30 at Basford United FC, NG6 0LD.
On Sunday, the Firsts play their final league game, away to Bournemouth Sports who they beat 1-0 in the league cup there two weeks ago. Bournemouth, with three games left, can still catch Ascot for second place. Kick-off 2pm at Bournemouth Sports FC, Chapel Gate, West Parley, Bournemouth BH23 6BD.
Sunday also sees the match of the weekend when the Reserves host Ruislip Rangers in a top of the table clash. Rangers beat the Chairgirls 6-0 in November and have dropped just two points this season, compared to three by the Chairgirls. Kick-off 2pm at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
On Sunday the Firsts travel to Ascot United for a semi-final League Cup tie. So far this season, the Chairgirls have drawn 1-1 at second placed Yellawomen, and lost 5-1 at home to them. Eastleigh or Rushmoor await the winners in the final. Kick-off 2pm at the Racecourse Ground, Winkfield Row, Ascot SL5 7LJ. Entry is free.
Also on Sunday, the Reserves are away to Beaconsfield Town in the league. The Chairgirls won 2-0 in the reverse fixture in September. Town are on a four win run, scoring 20 goals in the process. Kick-off 2pm at Holloways Park, Windsor Rd, Beaconsfield HP9 2SE.
All goals were scored in the first half, Katie Riddington pulled it back to 2-1 with a 25 yard shot.
So the season has ended for the Chairgirls, a season of transition with a new management team, a new home and many new players. Performances and results have improved recently, there is reason to be optimistic for next season.
Thanks @Steve_Peart for keeping us up to date with the Women's performances
Good to see the 1sts staying up & hopefully they can build on that next season, the reserves have done superbly to be leading their leagu, hats off to them.
am i the only one who doesnt understnad how the JPL league scoring works?
Yes thanks for all the effort Steve. I do follow the women's team on twitter and they certainly look like they have all grown in confidence as the season has gone on, all 3 teams !
@Erroll_Sims, the JPL works on the usual three points for a win and one for a draw, if that is what you mean, but the table in the Home tab has confusing columns and headers. The table is a little clearer in the Division Standings tab, "T" must be for Tie, I think the terminology is styled in the American way. Under Game Schedule, a "0" sometimes shows as blank. In general the site is slow and not well designed, and the scores don't appear for some hours. On full-time.thefa.com, scores can appear within minutes of games ending.
The U18s still have four league games to play and have a bye next week in the League Cup competition. They have found it tough this season, in what is a higher standard than the Thames Valley league, and that can only help their development. I'm not sure that trips of over two hours to Nottingham for a 10:30 kick-off, for an amateur girls team, is a good idea.
The Reserves have been very successful this season, they have four games still to play and are likely to finish second behind Ruislip. That should earn them promotion to Division One, as last season three teams were promoted from Division Two, and the champions went up two divisions.
On Sunday the Reserves are at home to East Oxford in the league. The Chairgirls won 1-0 there in October. Kick-off 2pm at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG. Mothers get in for free.
The U18s get back to action tomorrow when they host Worthing Town in the JPL for their last home game. In October the Chairgirls beat Worthing 4-1, who are bottom of the league but recorded a 7-5 win against Nottingham Forest last time out, four weeks ago. Kick-off 10.30 at the 1878 Stadium, Burnham SL1 8JG.
On Sunday, the Reserves face third placed Goring United at home, who the Chairgirls beat 3-1 in January. Goring only lost by one goal at Ruislip last week, so this is a tricky fixture but a chance to stretch the lead to 11 points over Ruislip, who have a cup game on Sunday. Kick-off 2:30 at Burnham.
