The clip I have just watched with ga saying goodbye seems rather distasteful to me tbh, ill judged and distasteful. Would rather not have seen that contrived exercise
Horgan can't get into Stevenage's team - I have no idea why we would bring him back to us other than in an injury crisis.
As for the likes of Scowen, Forino etc. going to QPR, Ainsworth's job there is to get the team promoted rather than to hover around in midtable. I'm really not convinced that any of our players are the answer.
He was referencing when, a while ago (start of this season?), he described how he'd never sack Ainsworth, and then some "idiot fans" criticised him for saying that as it suggested Ainsworth was untouchable whatever may happen.
It came over as a bit of an unnecessary dig in what was otherwise quite an emotional 16 minutes!
He's not going to get them competing for promotion any time soon. Staying up is their first mission.
However, I hope you're right. Losing Scowen especially would be a huge blow. And unlike a lot of managers, for whom Scowen's strengths probably go under the radar, Ainsworth will know his brilliance without any doubt!
It has been a frantic couple of days on this forum, but I'm impressed with the way the change of regime has been handled, and I'm sure Matt can keep the momentum going.
It was also apparent that the regulars on here have a deep-seated passion for the club, and have posted mostly positive messages, compared with the snarky and disrespectful bile seen on certain other clubs' forums.
I was sufficiently moved to take out a subscription to Wycombe Wanderers Trust, and hope to attend most Saturday home fixtures, and perhaps the odd away trip to the likes of Oxford and MK Dons, although I don't particularly like the idea of away fans being segregated and herded into one stand behind the goal (that doesn't happen at rugby matches).
As the dust settles feels like we have come out of the inevitable better than could be expected. Blooms is the right man in the right place at the right time. A fortuitous bounce for us.
I was fortunate enough to spend an afternoon at the training ground early in the season and was impressed that Blooms was all over the data analysis with the lad who left with Gaz, so I’m sure a new analyst will be a priority. Also like the idea mooted earlier that Danny Senda could be an interesting addition to the management team. That said Blooms* will have a great contact list built up over the years and being a decent bloke will, I’m sure, attract the right sort.
Being together on away days is part of what makes football so great. If you need to interact with the opposing fans you always have before and after. You should have been around for last years Playoff Final where Sunderland and Wycombe fans mixed before and after the game.
I'm not overly worried about losing players to QPR. Gaz's massive strength is getting players to collectively achieve things that looking at them individually you might not expect them to do.
Obviously occasionally you get players along who break the mould like Anis and you know he won't be around for ever, but of our other "best" players, I don't see too much to worry about. I think the age profile of them might count in our favour, for example.
The relationship Josh Scowen has with Dobbo is obviously a concern, but don't forget he's been at QPR before and it was not a happy part of his career. He's back "home" now, he's happy and he's performing wonderfully. He's easily good enough to play Championship football. I'm still hoping it's with us.
I know we all get carried away with wanting old boys to stay involved etc, when the truth is some simply won't want to stay on, or won't have the particular skillset....but JJ staying on in some capacity would be superb.
9th season as a player, possibly still has a chance of a 10th year as a squad player, but some sort of coaching role would be great.
I think the bit I’m more worried about than players going to QPR is losing the outstanding scouting and player recruitment programme we’ve put in place in recent seasons. Because if we lose that we’ll struggle to replace any that do go to Loftus Road.
Whoever it is that finds the likes of Anis, Big Chris Forino, Max, TJay and before them the likes of Curtis Thompson and Nick Freeman (and it may be a whole network rather than a single person) is a bloody genius.
Obviously difficult to know how much of that goes out the door with Gareth and Dobbo. It could be all of it, it could be none of it. Let’s hope appointing Matt Bloomfield means it’s the latter.

Nah
There is definitely a common thread with GA and MB today: Feeling that it is time to manage a club you captained and played the most games for.

The only thing that bothered me was RC talking about "idiot fans".
I do hope he is referred to as boss/gaffer asap by the players and not as Blooms, this is important
Funny that, I wondered about Horgan
Nothing has shown me that Horgan should come back. Nothing has shown Stevenage that he deserves only a few minutes here and there. He’s gone.
There are no loan recalls outside of transfer windows these days.
Quite incredible that anyone even suggested bringing him back!
What did he say?

I bet you don’t sign too many leaving cards at work.

So all the players who were absolutely leaving us in January might possibly be leaving in the summer? Surely that's an improvement.
Probably not that "incredible" is it? Many on here thought he was excellent.
Cheers. Difficult time for everyone to say the right things 100%, sort of get what he means

I think Max is more likely to be a target fir Gareth.

*hence forth to be known as Gaffer
Not the language to use though.
You'll be just fine at Oxford then.

Thanks @mooneyman, just as I was coming to terms with everything.
Does he own a Leather Jacket? Or wear snake skinned shoes?!? There are too many unknowns!
If this trend continues, I might need to put some money on JJ becoming the next manager!
Can you share the clip? I haven't seen it yet
