I've no problem with getting loan players in if they are the right player and a position we need, I think one or 2 is fine, but wouldn't go down the MK route of 5 or 6.
For the record, I believe we could do with at least another left footed player.
Loans are still subject to the squad size restrictions which leaves us looking at kids. Dare I say all the quality ones went in the summer and therefore we are looking at a far smaller pool of players. And quite often they don’t come cheap.
In the summer I can see (assuming we are starting August in league 1) a significant squad overhaul with most if the Championship wage players leaving. So maybe this window is an audition for that.
I’m of the same opinion of others. No need to sign anyone as it stands today. Not even a particularly strong desire. However, if Mehmeti, Horgan and Kai Kai leave (with others too) then we might have scope to bring some in.
For what it’s worth, I’d quite like to see a left back come in, but even then I think we’re better off waiting until summer when JJ is out of contract.
I wouldn’t mind a left sided centre back who can also cover left back. No urgency of course with JJ but I’m always thinking Taf, Alfie and Forino have an injury in them unfortunately!
For a bit of transfer window context Morgan Whittaker who is currently on loan with Plymouth from Swansea is rumoured to be joining Ipswich for £1.5m. That’s the pool we are swimming in. Along with the cash that Ipswich spent in the summer they had better go up.
What makes people think Horgan / KaiKai are going anywhere or for that fact any players presently. Ainsworth still uses them and their will not be many flying around to pay Horgan's championship wage. Same with KaiKai. We will probably not see any additions as there is no need with 28-30 odd players.
If we sign anyone maybe a young free agent and that's it.
Be content we are doing well and will finish top 8. Just guess whether that will be inside or outside the playoffs. Did well at Plymouth. Forms been great. Most sides above look dross - standard of the lg this year has dropped.
agreed. But didn't Gaz say something towards the end of a transfer window about trying to get "the most Wycombe player you can imagine", but missing out?
He scored 9 in 20 for Forest Green and most of their supporters are wishing him well and not surprised he's moving on ,almost like they knew it wouldn't last
I’ve often hooked a card saying ‘Do Not Disturb’ on the door handle to a hotel room and I take medication daily but what you describe, @floyd, has me intrigued.
@micra ’do not disturb,’ silences all your notifications. It should be an option in the settings app in your phone. It’s particularly useful watching Wanderers TV, which can occasionally be up to a minute behind the action.
Thanks, both. I get loads of emails, texts and notifications announced by pings, rings and, for BBC News flashes, a burst of the news theme “music”. There’s an on/off slider button top left which silences them. But I don’t think it stops text notifications popping up fleetingly at the top of the screen. At least they don’t make me jump or include message content.

We've pretty much just got everyone fit so unless someone amazing came up not sure why would we?

Saw someone on fb who reckons that "apparently" we've signed Alfie May.
Not sure where that has come from..
I guess from the angle that I’m expecting some of our squad players to leave this month.
Would we have the funds to do that? He’s not out of contract until June 2024. You’d imagine it hinges on us shifting players out first.
Not sure what good that would do us - thought he only scored against us - would impress in training though 😊

Connor Wickham? Out of contract. Only 29
He looked dreadful against us

He probably tied his shoelaces too quickly during the medical.

That’s Josh Scowen!
Anyway, countdown clock reads 28 days before we can keep Mehmeti.
Let’s hope it’s like one of those instances on The Voice where you’re gobsmacked that nobody turned.
Mehmeti countdown now at 27 days. (Bear with me, it's slow season!)
Probably still at the "Andrew Howard refusing to even pick up the phone" phase
I’ve dreaded taking my off do not disturb in the morning this week. So far so good…

Some kind of new-fangled electronic wizardry?
It’s a setting on your phone that you can turn on if you’re sleeping or in a meeting or whatever.

Any news about Mehmeti ?!
Mehmeti Watch: 26 days left. We can do this!
Since we’ve let a ‘playmaker,’ go are we allowed to dream that maybe Anis isn’t leaving?
No. Probably not.
Sorry to report that Horgan has joined Stevenage on loan until the end of the season
