Stocko, who has the most clean sheets in the league, was dropped for todays game against Oxford apparently due to an error he made last week. His replacement, another ex-Chairboy in Cameron Dawson, saved a 96 minute penalty to deny Oxford a late winner. Shame!
Not sure, just going based on what a few of their fans are writing. I wonder if this may be his last season in the professional game, or whether he fancies another season.
"Anthony Stewart has been a man mountain for Aberdeen so far tonight. The centre-half has been winning absolutely everything that has come his way in the air."
Presumably you didn't see the game? Pretty calamitous defending from him for the 1st and 3rd Rangers goals. Aberdeen fans certainly not impressed on twitter.
Anthony Stewart has sadly been the subject of racial abuse as a result of his sending off in the St Mirren defeat. I feel for the guy - he’s tried to better himself but he’s gone from being loved to being hated within the space of a few months. There’s no excuse to abuse any footballer on their own social media.
I actually had a little look at their message board after I had made this post. There was a discussion amongst posters as to whether it was racist or not. That’s probably part of the problem.
Anyway, the general consensus is that the want him gone in January and one even said he hopes we take him back.
Interesting in Gareth's interview yesterday, he reiterated his gratitude to the Couhigs for backing him all the way. He made reference to the difficult transitional earlier in the season but hinted that we are now over that, and gives the impression the Couhigs are back on board.
Nice to see that business thinking has allowed space and time to accept a football professional judgment/opinion. That to my mind is how the best and most successful clubs progress. It really all is about teamwork in all areas!
I thought it was also interesting that he very specifically referenced the leadership vacuum left by Bayo, Blooms and Stockdale, and how players are gradually coming forward with their own leadership styles. This does validate what a lot of us were thinking about leadership earlier in the season, and it is good to hear that is transitioning to a new group too - winning always helps, but there is at least a partial connection between the two there, I am sure.
Comments
I have just noticed that Scot Brown has left Exeter to join Mat Taylor at Rotherham.
New job for Peter Taylor.
Will be coaching the local primary schools second eleven soon at this rate. Junior Lewis will probably still be his assistant.
Does he live nearby or something?
Or do they have a connection with one of those dubious signings he made for us?
Bizarre one.
With Luke Oliver between the sticks - I mean, he tried him in every other position didn’t he?
Paul Smyth scored a stunning goal for Leyton Orient who lead Sutton 1-0.

Saw a clip of him passing it out from his area straight to an opposition attacker, but the shot was wide, so he got away with it.
Maybe this was another error though?
Still a class act

Thought it was a 2 year deal he'd signed? I know he could still choose to retire even so though.

I was quoting the beeb, sorry. Did not see it. To be fair, that was written at 2-1.

Anthony Stewart sent off in first half today for last man foul leading to a penalty for St Mirren
Was just about to check out how he was doing and saw that! That won't ease the fury flying around on their forums!
Matt phillips scores for WBA at Bristol City,0-1.
Has anyone heard a better co-commentator than Jasper Pattenden?
Malachi Linton scores for Yeovil at Torquay, 1-1.
Wrong thread. Sorry. Thought I was matchday.
Myles Weston with a goal for Daggers, against Maidstone.

Saw a couple of comments hoping he got injured which is pretty scumbag behaviour as it is, but the details in your update are just appalling stuff.

We couldn't afford his wages anyway.
