Having watched the preview on WanderersTV, although spoken cryptically, it would seem there will be an ‘injury returner’ on the team sheet this week...
By the way, what a thoroughly likeable chap that Chris F-J is...
Height is so important. It’s one reason (amongst several) why, for all my admiration of Anthony Stewart as a dependable defender and as a very likeable person, I was super confident (to use @Malone style terminology) that, provided he stayed fit, Forino would be a more than adequate replacement.
What do you mean - now@Malone ? I’ve always held Mr Shevlane in high esteem, ever since I saw him in the Frank Adams stand a few seasons ago. I thought he was standing up but he was actually sitting down.
Here's the latest injury situation, as far as I know, based on info made publicly available. Feel free to correct, etc...
Dominic Gape - substituted after 26 minutes in the 1-0 win at Oxford United (08/10/2022) with an unspecified injury (possibly hamstring) - Gareth Ainsworth: "hopefully this one is not as bad as first feared, and hopefully he’ll be back soon.” (source: BFP 13/10/2022)
Ryan Tafazolli - has missed two weeks with an unspecified "minor" injury - no timescale on a return
Josh Scowen - has missed four weeks with a medial knee ligament injury - could possibly be back for Portsmouth (H) 04/12/2022
David Wheeler - has missed seven weeks with an unspecified injury (possibly Achilles) - no timescale on a return
D'Mani Mellor - has missed almost nine weeks with an unspecified injury (possibly knee) - "back soon" (source: BFP 29/09/2022)
Brandon Hanlon - has missed 11 weeks with an unspecified injury (possible abdominal surgery) - "back soon" (source: BFP 29/09/2022)
Curtis Thompson - has missed 34 weeks (over seven months) with an unspecified injury (possibly ACL ) - not expected back until 2023.
Napoleon was in fact 5’7” which was above average height at the turn of the 18th/19th century. Whereas Nelson was only just over 5’. Everyday a school day on the Gasroom.
Some insightful detail in the video regarding the amount of painkillers and anti-inflammatories footballers are on; as well as featuring footage of the injury occurring, and being aggravated in training.
Careful @perfidious_albion. You only have to mention heights a couple of times for the pass-remarkable @Malone to have you down as obsessive !
I should explain that mrs micra (from the Emerald Isle) used to tell me years ago (but sadly no longer since becoming slightly anglicised) that I was “arful pass-remarkable” if I commented on more than one aspect of someone’s character or appearance.
Shortly after we met, she contracted sarcoidosis and was in Mount Vernon hospital for a couple of weeks. I visited her on the ward several times but there was one occasion in particular that I recall when I just couldn’t think of anything to take in. I was greeted with “Aah, sure, here he comes with one hand as long as the other”. On another occasion, clad only in a fairly short hospital gown, she described herself as white as the fresh-driven snow.
Lots of lovely expressions (poetic, really) in a beautiful soft southern Irish accent. I’m a lucky guy.
Back to Taf, having merely bruised a rib before and it totally ruling out mere running for a while, it sounds incredible he can play with a broken rib!
Breathing is difficult and you usually have to just let it heal up.
But then you remember he's been out for the last couple of games which sounds more like it.
He does seem to have the knack of picking up unusual injuries doesn't he.

Aye, that's Brandon isn't it?
I also note that most of our development team have the same haircut.
They don't call him 'The Condor' for nothing
Would have been really disconcerting to see Hanlan wearing one for a stomach issue!
Examining players legs is probably crossing a line into unhealthy obsession, I’m certainly not zooming in on their stomachs too!
If we’re talking players’ legs, look at the tree trunks on Max.
I was gonna say be careful as you'll get @micra along talking heights again.
But a scroll round the previous page shows he's already been right amongst it.

Tall people are indeed excellent human beings in general. In unrelated news, I am 6 foot 4.
You are automatically now @micra'so favourite poster.
Are you able to Kick and Head the ball and don't have any injury concerns. If the answers are yes, can you play on Sat?
Seems like @micra with be your home and away sponsor!
The information relating to player's injury status has hit a new low when we are counting legs.

Budum...
Budum, budum, budum, budum, budum. Pink panther theme.
I may tick some boxes, but I would be on the injury report as "middle aged - not expected to return."
I could have a very long torso and tiny legs, of course.

Should probably have a sticky thread for this.
(Editing the spelling of Hanlan while you're at it)
There’s no such thing as napoleon syndrome and I’ll fight anyone who disagrees with me.
Coincidently Putin is 5ft 3.

Maybe the term "back soon" is cryptic.
Perhaps it's the medical team actually predicting the next injury?
"Ryan Tafazolli - stomach injury, back soon"
I thought we'd agreed that back "soon" is a relative term versus the timescale of the world's history to date.
Taff has said on youtube he has a fractured rib
So can we conclude that a player "back soon" might feature as a substitute for 1 or 2 minutes about 2 weeks later?

A couple of hundred times maybe @micra.

Next time you’re in Beaconsfield, knock on the basement door in Revs and ask for Miss Pain.
