Reflecting on injuries and keeping on topic, I remember seeing a tackle on Jocky McSporran at Wigan, when there was talk of him making a 1m move to Wolves. His cruciate was wrecked and also the chance of a big move.
Brownie breaking a players leg, whose name escapes me at Adams Park. The crowd was completely silenced by that.
Some player we were told had a cold, for a long period, when in fact I believe he was possibly involved in a murder somehow?
And of course poor old Sean Devine, out for a good while after having been kneecapped for a betting debt ( Caution - may be an urban myth.)
Fred lost his toes whilst touring the West Indies with England. Poor old Fred he climbed onto what he thought was the front of a boat but that was where the rotating propeller was. Perhaps rum had been taken? Things were a little more relaxed back in the day. End of his international cricket career. Big news as a ten year old, simpler times.
I know nothing. But mrs micra, an addict, says they’ve run out of celebrities that anyone’s heard of. Well, she’s wrong there. I saw a picture on the cover of this week’s Radio Times of a strikingly handsome guy who’s well known for having played some character called Poldark. Adrian Turner I think he’s called. And he’s in it.
I thought Romesh Ranganathan, Rob Beckett and Sarah Millican had to be in everything on the BBC (TV and radio) and C4 and Sky. (I suspect they have a very good agent...)

there never is Gareth "they are just around the corner "
I’ve just knocked my knee against an open dish washer door. Might need a sit down whilst my coffee cools a bit.
Estimated time out: about 10 mins.
If I were a footballer: 2-4 weeks
There may be some on here who do not know the significance of that picture poor old Fred Titmus.
I've a dodgy knee and back, sorry but its long term
Who was our Aussie keeper who was out for a bit having mowed his law in his flip flops?

“Flymo Frank” Talia
Ouch!
And going back a bit further, didn’t Glyn Creaser have some kind of an accident with a forklift truck?
I’d forgotten his name but he took a shine to mrs micra at one of those social evenings in the Vere Suite and (surprise surprise) she remembered it.
And I thought my compression stocking covered feet were ugly. That’s put me right off me lunch.
I think this is one of the funniest reasons for missing games.

Link has to be blue I think @mooneyman but there’s enough in the link itself to get the gist!

I didn't think the Gasroom was that kind of website.
I once managed to give myself a black eye with a badminton racket.
how long you out for ? wonder what GA would say ?!
Out for: 25 years to Life.
Still surprised he managed 10 games after his cold when with us

Brett Ormerod was the unfortunate Blackpool player to break his leg in a challenge with Steve Brown. October 1999.

Gosh just checked that was when I was ten, how strange things stick. Never realised he played for Chelsea as a junior as well. Every day a school day.
Oh, been away for the bank holiday, have I missed anything re injury news😉?
Fuckin hell it’s Fred Titmus
Must admit I'd only skim read the thread, and had never heard of Fred Titmus.
I actually thought it was some nickname for Frank Talia (same initials), and having seen him mentioned earlier and the flymo!
What does everyone think about the 2022 Strictly lineup?

I don’t mind watching it. It’s my kind of music.
PS. mrs micra is a Strictly addict. Hmmm.

Did I hear that Obita was not well on Saturday, as opposed to being injured?
You did. Let’s hope he had what Dom Gape had.
Weetabix with Red Bull?
