Is Stewart going again? Unless he gets an offer from the Championship, or a massive wage increase offer from somewhere, I would have thought at his age he would stay with a team pushing for the top of League One again.
I'm not so sure about Stocko living in Leeds, he bought a non-league team in the West Midlands and has a bunch of property he owns / lets out that way too.
Time for some new generals. Or moving away from that idea.
Stewart had an interesting transformation from being what I thought was quite overrated by a lot of people on here for half a season, and then fairly underrated for the second half upon Forino's emergence.
I thought Gape was done for until his really good run of 6 or so games late season.
However, maybe long term, Wing and Scowen is the best combo?
Although Wing is another we haven't actually heard about yet, and I assume your "other 2" is the first 2 I mention?
I love GA, Dobbo and Bloomfield, they are legends but the honeymoon is over, we need to smell the roses, we will struggle next term as this squad (whoever they may be) is midtable League One at best.
He had a good season. A centre back at his age is perfect. There are plenty of league 1 clubs more capable of paying higher wages than us. This for him is possibly the last chance of a decent pay rise. Hence I think he might go and I would not blame him.
I hasten to add that my sadness has nothing to do with being reluctant to agree with you! It’s because I’ve been on nodding terms with Anthony Stewart for about a decade and I have great admiration for him both as a player and a person.
His age, the stage in his career and the state of the economy are probably factors that will influence whatever decision he makes. And he won’t be alone in that.
I think it's for the following reasons - for me it is anyway....
We know they fit the clubs'/GA's ethos. Tried and tested. Good eggs. They know our "ways".
I'm not a scout. Not many of us are. EFL games aren't on TV so other than highlights or word of mouth, it's rare that fans actually know much/anything at all about lower league players apart from watching them play against us. All the fans calling for us to sign players based on how many goals they have scored for other clubs etc because they are the only players we have heard of. Fans calling for us to sign Asall from AFCW - based on a god performance against us.
It’s also a factor of how long Gaz and Dobbo have been doing this. Change your management team every five minutes and there isn’t the longevity and track record with certain players to look back on.

They are all definately leaving as the club hasn't told us anything. Leaving is the default setting for fans who need to fill the information void.
Tell them stuff and then they can start moaning about why we resigned them

I don't think Stewart's going anywhere. I certainly hope he's not anyway.

Yes I agree with you, I don't see him suddenly leaving now.

Sadly, I’m inclined to agree with you @TheAndyGrahamFanClub.

Assume you’re referring to Ayoub Assal , the AFC Wimbledon player @thecatwwfc.
Very little chance of signing him, sadly. Rated very highly by clubs way further up the pyramid than us, and likely to go for a lot of money
By ‘way’ further up the pyramid @eric_plant do you have in mind the Premier League?
I believe he's been linked with Fulham and Brentford, among others
Cheers @eric_plant. Not sure how a 5’8” midfielder found his way in to David Stockdale’s thread!
He must have woven his way through
I think it's a bit of a shame if Stockdale goes. Big character that's going to be missed.
It really does change our priorities in the transfer market!
Not sure it does. I have to agree with @eric_plant that a quality keeper on loan would work for me.
Sorry @Wendoverman. When did @eric_plant say that a quality ‘keeper on loan would work for you?
OK well it's a priority to sign someone on loan then....

Very dodgy news on Twitter...
I could see this one being true if Stockdale is leaving.
Foster seemed impressed with us when he played at AP during our Championship season.
That’s the same account that reckons Diego Costa is signing for Peterborough. A real leader in the field!
I'd take Alex smithies as a replacement? Ben foster maybe?
Ben Foster would be an epic replacement.
May be 39, but 27 premier league appearances last season shows he's far from finished.
He's off then https://twitter.com/AlexMiller91/status/1536331458670895105?t=dncmAgZMIzvKQ2WjLiKNcg&s=19
A shame if that was his last game for us, but he leaves with my thanks if he does go. What a goalkeeper, and what a character!
Despite understanding that he lives in Leeds and it may be a better/longer deal etc, it still feels quite a surprising loss.
It makes you wonder how we managed to have him as a backup keeper for half a season!
