I can’t think of any players in the current squad that are MB signings that wouldn’t fit easily into a GA side (several of them even seem to have the religious leanings that many GA signings had).
But yeah, MB has earned the right to move forward and be his own man after a tough period.
One thing I have appreciated is a slightly lower reliance on the dark arts under MB… though it doesn’t seem to matter in terms of opposition perception and we still seem to be seen as shithousers. Whatever.
I would guess the number of times dev called Ainsworth moving to another club during his ten plus career at Wycombe was over fifty. But I haven't got any numbers to back this up
Good points. As to the last point, even Nathan Jones seemed to think he was still going up against GA with his post match cliche comments after Charlton.
What was Dev's motive for highlighting stories about Gareth Ainsworth's managerial employment at Wycombe Wanderers given his quote "I honestly never criticised Gareth Ainsworth think he was the best manager we have ever had."
(Is it possible to read this without a whiny voice?)
I honestly always thought @DevC‘s comments about GA every time a ‘better’ job was rumoured were about respecting his abilities tempered with concern about the transient nature of football managers.
Along the lines of ‘to get a better job - which he (GA) deserves - he needs to make the most of this possible chance, whilst Wycombe are still over-performing’.
And Bonner appointed at Gillingham. Two jobs supposedly Ainsworth was interviewed for. Clearly not going to easy to get back into management. Lots of managers unemployed at the moment going for not many jobs.
A shame for GA, and if he wants to be in the EFL he may have to wait until the first round of layoffs in October time (or so). So many managers were sacked towards the end of the EFL season that there has just been slim pickings.

The question clearly asked for instances where dev had called 'ainsworth would leave Wycombe'
No statistical analysis was done
Instead you have answered a different question
Can you try again @Shev
If you can provide a methodology that will gain you marks
The 'never criticised Ainsworth' is an obvious smokescreen. And I'm disappointed in you shev
I'll try to take it in my stride, but life looks a little bleak now.

It is vitally important that intelligence wins over ignorance
Trump is the result
Or the end game
Have a good night, @LX1!

Honestly!
You know somebody's lying when they say 'honestly!'
As any schoolteacher knows
Someone likes the sound of his own voice!!
Thanks for that @our_frank.
’d actually forgotten that I coined that in a rare witty moment.
Why does my device not allow me to start a new paragraph with “I’d” I wonder.
Leave it art @LX1. You know we loves yer but I need to do Wordle and get under the duvet.
G’night.
You definitely know something's going on when duvet is mentioned
Next you will be telling me how great it is to turn it over half way through the night
And a badger is in the faking patio
Indeed
I’ll play…

But good to see you on top form @LX1 .
It always brings a smile to my face
Revell confirmed as Stevenage manager (again), so where does this leave Gaz? https://www.stevenagefc.com/news/2024/may/alex-revell-appointed-first-team-manager-stevenage-fc-football-club-sky-bet-league-one-efl-english-football-league/

Reported that Martin O'Neill is on the verge of securing a new manager job - at Rapid Bucharest of all places. There are always options......
Hope Gareth gets a decent job soon (if that is what he wants). Not sure Stevenage would have been the right one tbh.
The Worldwide Wycombe Phenomenon is starting to get a bit mental
and rapidly

Once the season is over in other parts of Europe we might see a very big surprise with GA.
