Very frustrating today, surprised to hear people think we were OK. Tbh, I thought we were just very boring, didn't really look like scoring, only 4000 there today, and that won't help bring more in. I heard more people complaining walking out today than I did after the Exeter game.
Many years ago I watched Barcelona Osasuna. 8-0. Messi scored a hat-trick, had a few assists, hit the woodwork twice and even scored from a header. After the initial excitement it was quite dull to watch. A bit like playing FIFA Soccer (in my mum's attic) on easy settings.
The booing was pathetic, but I do worry what the responses will be when we start to play some of the teams in this league who are actually likely to be challenging the top half...
Frustrating game. Second half was pretty poor from both sides and only a howler was likely to lead to a goal. First 20 we looked the part and had we scored I’m confident we’d have got more.
I’m not sure what Hanlan offers us any more I’m afraid.
I’m also not sure if Josh is suited to playing that far forward. His deliveries into the box didn’t look great to me.
I don’t know how different the Tuesday home game routine is from the Saturday home game routine, but it’s got to be worth trying to switch something around.
I find it strange when some say we never looked like scoring. Off the absolute top of my head:
1. Vokes forced the keeper into a save with a fierce shot. To be fair, I could not tell if it was definitely going in.
2. Low from a corner puts it in the mixer and Vokes could not squeeze the final touch past the keeper
3. Taylor bought a yard at the edge of the area and hammered a shot which drew another fine save.
4. Hanlan was slightly offside when he met a chance from GMac that he should have buried.
5. Hanlan shot from an angle when he could have squared to Phillips.
There were more scrambles in their area too. Definitely ironic that some saw it as so toothless. The phrase "champagne football" was even uttered during the first half commentary!

We'll get better. But it's been a shock how poor we've been in the league so far, against fairly mid table to relegation fodder teams.
Would we have won midweek if they'd not been down to 10 for 40mins? Debatable.
I don't think we'd have even drawn

I wouldn't want to watch that every week.
One of the wycombe fb admins has had a bit of a flounce tonight because of the "negativity".
No-one likes unreasonably moans, but if you aren't a bit alarmed at our 4 game league start, you must be one sensationally optimistic person I think.
#whinersandlosers
I watched from the terrace, I thought Potts had a shocking 2nd half, 5 passes on the trot straight to a yellow shirt.
But for me only Low & Scowan had a performance worth remembering.
The booing was stupid. There’s a bunch of kids out there some making their first steps in grown up and we are hostile?
Frustrating for sure. But don’t boo. If you boo that performance what you gonna do when we really have a stinker ?
Agreed. Never boo.
Moan about it online later. That's the way these days.
When does a boo become a jeer?

I thought the booing was a bit embarrassing and just showed some fans up to be entitled toddlers
I wouldn't say never boo. If things really were to get into truly diabolical territory, fair enough imo.
Maybe we'll prove to be a team who play better against the better teams...
Really needs to be the case!
Wasn’t able to watch today, but Burton are the sort of team you need to dispatch at home unless you want to have a very uncomfortable season.
Nice to get a clean sheet, that’s progress of sorts.
What did impress me was how ruthless MB was with subs. Leahy had a good first half, played a poor 10 mins and immediately subbed.
That's 4 home league games on a Saturday in a row now we've not scored.
@ReturnToSenda any idea how many years we'd have to go back for that ugly a run? Has to be non league days surely?
And no win on a Saturday since February 18th! How many points are available on Tuesdays..?
Just having a quick look through Soccerbase. Looking at all days, there was a run of 5 home league games without scoring at the beginning of 2014.
We had a run for ages under Ainsworth where we didn't win on Tuesdays didn't we? Might have only been at home.
That felt less worrying than this!
Whoops, you quoted my original error...it's "Only" 4 home Sats in a row with no score. Not 5.
But 2014 must have been bleak days!
Ah, well early 2014 was 3 Saturdays without scoring at home
But yeah, looks like this might well be the worst run in our EFL era - a niche one, admittedly!
In fairness, we're on a run still, we could erm, better this run of no goals in due course!

Seemed a strange use of Scowen, didn't it?
Did we sign Leahy assuming he was an attacking mid or something? Now realise our best 3 mids are all deep lying, so one has to play out of position?

The reality is we have got 4 pts from 12. Not good enough playing very average opposition. God help us when we play someone good.

It may well be like last season, where we played better against the better teams. I never understand it, but it's a thing!
