Max is great for us. Superb shot stopper, commands his box, consistent, brave. But there is a but (which explains why he has found his level). Distribution. It’s now a massive part of a keepers role / skill set at a higher level. And his isn’t at that level, yet.
Hope he stays under the radar, his performances will be worth double digit points for us this season.
People obsess about our players being poached but we maybe sell one star up the league's for a fee every couple of years if that, Anis and Wingy (although he is a slightly different case) were both scoring worldies regularly before the hoardes gathered.
What the Couhigs have done with Forino is put a marker out saying we won't just roll over and get out of the way, and that's important if we ever want a huge fee for anyone.
I’m know it’s only against franchise but Hanlan showed what he can do when he got on the shoulder of the last man. Only just watched the highlights mind you. Bullied, use his strength, fought. When he does that he’s an asset to the squad. So frustrating when you know a player is capable.
To be fair, in a recent interview Blooms said we had to contend with ‘bids for some of our players’, or something very similar to that. He’s been honest in saying that one of them was Chris but the use of plural suggested we had turned down bids for one or two others. I do wonder whether Max had also attracted interest during pre-season.
Matt has skirted around Tafazolli in his interviews. When describing the other players in a list he’s mentioned ‘knocks’ or. ‘lack of fitness’. With Forino he strongly alluded to things potentially messing with his head (QPR). With Tafazolli he’s used language like ‘things going on’. If I was a betting man I’d bet Tafa has had an enquiry or two and we haven’t seen rumours of it.
I also wouldn’t be surprised if Stryjek (or some of the other players) have been given a new deal and the club haven’t announced it yet.
I hope it was. If so we have nothing much to worry about. If on the other hand a living, breathing Homo Sapiens wrote it we need to be afraid. Very afraid.

Is it me or does the MK report of the game look like it was written by AI. Did they not even have enough people on the website?

His distribution has got a lot better. He’s easily a championship goalkeeper.

Even less reason for this shower to exist now as I notice that there was another MK team playing in the FA Cup on Saturday: Milton Keynes Irish.
Hopefully this other team will soon be the only football club in the town as oblivion awaits the franchise.
I actually wonder the opposite. Avoid thr QPR circus, get back to top form and there's every chance a more stable high team come in.
Hopefully the QPR move dying away encourages him to sign on long term here, rather than try and hold out for a freebie.
I thought he was trying to do some badge kissing after his goal yesterday, but seeing the pic with the blood, maybe it was more mopping that up.
Getting QPR in the next round of the cup would be spicy

Very insightful comment, and how appropriate would it be for MK to be associated with something artificial?
They have to try and get past Norwich first which I can't see happening
I reckon Max had a bid from QPR too before they signed Begović
It looks like Steve Cook is about to sign for QPR on a 2yr deal. That might mean that Chris is our's (for now!)

A timely reminder of how fortunate we are to have such a talented operator as Matt Cecil running our website.
Yeaaah, reading that, I'd be worried if it wasn't written by AI.
I doubt QPR will get as far as round 2
A reminder of the ball numbers for tonight's Carabao Cup second round draw (South section):
Wycombe are no. 19.
PL clubs in the draw: Brentford 3, Chelsea 4, Fulham 7, Luton 9, Spurs 18.
Those PL clubs involved in European competitions are not in the draw at this stage.
Bournemouth, Burnley, Everton, the Gasroom's second team Forest, Palace, Sheffield Utd, Wolves also possible
Imagine drawing Luton or Brentford, it just wouldn’t feel like PL opposition
I would get the night off if it was Forest or Luton at home. Teams who are looking to just cling on to Prem status will be vulnerable.
Yes, I was going to say he mentioned Taf yesterday I think and his tone and choice of words suggested there was interest from elsewhere.
See also: Bournemouth
It will be Reading
Some of those are in the northern half, unfortunately - I would have loved Forest or Everton!
Oh, I didn't think it was regionalised after round 1
None of those are possible. apart from Bournemouth (no. 1) and Palace (no. 5). All the others are in the North section.
Brentford fine, anyone but Luton
It's never been regionalised before has it ?
Or have I never noticed as we don't normally get that far lately
