FWIW on the numbering. Still can't figure out when the 4 and the 6 switched, with squad numbers muddying the waters, but it appears to be last ten years or so, from looking further back from 80s into 2000s at the likes of Hansen, Pallister, Staam, Adams in the 6 and Viera and such like in the 4.
It also explains why the numbers were not "in order" in the general switch from the popularity of the 2-3-5. My guess is that sometime in the past decade or so (at least at PL level) someone decided that it would make more sense to switch the 4 and the 6 to have 2,3,4,5 all as defenders.
Obviously this is Wikipedia, so not sure degree of accuracy.
I think that time in the womb should count double. No way that two otherwise identical specimens will be of the same level of development if one is 7 months in and 5 months out vs 9 months in and 3 months out.
nb - this is a total stab in the dark, I am not medically trained although I did do biology up to GCSE and I did vaguely pay attention in class. I have also watched a bit of Attenborough.
Flippin’ ‘eck, I have a break from the Gasroom and all hell breaks loose.
Irony is, when I switched me phone back on just now, the first tab I spotted was Richard Keogh’s Wikipedia page. I remember I was going to check his age for confirmation that he wasn’t 38.
A 24 year old striker who made over 30 appearances in the PL last season might just be ever-so-slightly out of reach to a club in League One, but we can only dream!

What about when he's 38?
We can't hope to compete with a 40 year old defender...
I realise this reference might have gone over a lot of heads
Smile and nod..... 👍️
Ah, so the 37 in a few weeks part was irrelevant then 😂
But weirdly once he's celebrated his 37th birthday he is technically in his 38th year, so @Otter87 wasn't so far out after all.
@Twizz I'm starting to like you more and more on here!
Sorry Malone, my memory isn't as sharp as what it used to be! I offer my apologies for sharing incorrect information

Aren't the "newer" numbers just the Italian equivalent? All James Richardsons fault.
Well technically he's been alive around 9 months before hes born if we want to get technical.
Roll on the new season
Just take it as a lesson to do betterings.
Didn't South Korea change that recently? They used to count time in the womb towards a person's age.

nb mkII - for the above reasons, it's not a total stab in the dark, more of a layman's stab in the early morning haze. I promise that it all.
You were a year as soon as you were born, and you gained a year on Jan 1st. So if you were born on New Year's Day, you were classed as 2 by Jan 2nd.
Yes, many Koreans just became younger overnight, showing it is possible!
I wonder if Keogh has decided to pop on the forum to see what Wycombe fans are like, only to see us discussing his womb time.
"He won't be ready for a full 90 for a while yet - he is on the umbilical."
They changed this year but we in the North changed 40 years ago.
Or was it 39?
QPR have just signed Morgan Fox, a defender. No idea if this makes a difference to their pursuit of CF-J, but it can’t hurt.
I knew that, didn't want to muddy the waters any more than necessary.
However, what happens if your birth day was February 29th? Everything goes to hell in a hand cart I believe.
Fox is a left-back.
No good.

Long time prospect Sam Surridge left Forest. I wonder if Blooms is tempted for another striker?
EDIT - Hang on, there is talk he's heading to the USA.
That would be quite a coup!

Haha, I'm getting him confused. My bad. Who am I thinking of that we were linked with? Maybe went to Shrews?
Sam Cosgrove?
