Article on the BBC (I have no idea how to share) explaining what teams have spent in the top leagues throughout Europe.... The whole of la liga combined have spent £2m in this window.
If the figures are to be believed, Wycombe have spent more than Real mardrid and Barcelona in this transfer window. Mentel
Input:’Photograph of mile long glorious chairlift ascending to Adams Park, home of Wycombe wanderers. Populate with hundreds of fans of Wycombe smiling and a beautiful sky with the sun bursting through.’
Then just asked to rerun with quartered shirts and 4 stands!
If he scores a goal and wears a crown then he's staying.......but if another player whisks out a lute and starts playing it (like some dimly remembered banquet scene in the depths of my mind) then he's off.
Personally I think the loss of Richard Kone, in this transfer window, would be more disruptive than the loss of Bloomfield.
Even if we did achieve a transfer fee in excess of £5M, which is the figure I've seen quoted, where is the replacement ready to hit the ground and start scoring goals this season?
Promotion - although by no means guaranteed if Kone stays - is potentially worth much more than £5M.
For me it's a no brainer that the club stick to their guns and continue to knock back these bids. However, it must be having some effect on Kone so let's hope he is being well mentored.
I think we *should* keep him, but I also worry that these bids are getting closer to a price the club can't refuse. £6 million is a huge amount of money for any League 1 club, turn that down, and the bids might get bigger. I'm getting worried.
I would like to think he’s here to stay. The rest of the season here could be glorious days, like Mansfield away, that he could be part of. Then he could have the option to stay with us or have a few clubs come in for him.
Or he could go to Luton and potentially see the opposite of the fans behaviour week in, week out. He wouldn’t be putting a crown on his head there to celebrate
Not sure if it’s comparable in terms of contract situation, but Derby managed to keep hold of Cashin when similar magnitude bids were made - and he’s worth £15m now. The more I think about it, the less I want to sell now.
An unamed league one club has made an enquiry for Daniel Barlaser from Middlesbrough. He is a ball playing number 6 so I wonder whether he is a possible Morley replacement.
It would arguably be so yes. What I can see is we desperately need Morley or a Morley replacement. Reckon that is arguably more important than keeping Kone.
no word, personal feeling is its got to be close to being accepted, that money allows us to go re invest and for how good kone is/will be (i still think hes far from the finished product) we could replace him for the here and now.
We should be biting Luton's hand off for 6m. Sell Kone and get Morley in asap. Morley was absolutely fundamemtal to everything good over the last few months. Kone can be replaced. If Udoh had started the same number of games up top as Kone (and had been on pens) the goal returns wouldn't be hugely different is my guess. 6 million for someone who's had half a decent season. It's crazy.
I suppose the worry is it's late in the window. Once we accept that bid (if we do) then every seller knows we are £6 million up, and any fee for their own striker would go through the roof.
It's a very tough decision to make, but I stand by my thoughts that without Kone we absolutely won't get promoted.

And they're not even getting in the team! We've hit the big time! 😄

Alan Smith’s high-class Mizuno apparel was not striped, it was deconstructed quarters.
Sam Grace.
A website that seems to have its finger on the pulse with regard to transfer rumours & more is www.footballleagueworld.co.uk
What's the Gasroom feeling about Kone then? Here to stay? Or is tomorrow his last game in the Quarters? I'd be absolutely devastated.

I think we should keep him, if we go up he'll be worth even more

I would be shocked if he goes before the summer, and equally shocked if he is still here after it.
He's playing well in a good team with a shot at promotion. I predict he stays. (Gulp!)
Also, if he goes I won't be sticking around to see who gets the Gasroom blame.

Sadly James from the BFP has stated he is staying.
Based on his recent record he’s already in Bedfordshire. 😉
6m is a lot of cash for any player at our level.
Bugger.
barlaser on loan.....this isnt def info

Interesting... has played a fair amount of football for Boro recently. Any word on King Kone @kipper ?
Telegraph reporting that Derby have also enquired about Barlaser.
Would be an absolutely incredible signing but not sure why he’d join us over Derby.
dare i say would be an upgrade on morley, interesting to see if its us, would think wrexham, birmingham or huddersfield more likely
It would arguably be so yes. What I can see is we desperately need Morley or a Morley replacement. Reckon that is arguably more important than keeping Kone.
Barlaser also played for Paul Warne at Rotherham, so I'd imagine we're up against it if that story is true.
Correct yes
