Palace weren’t shy about politely telling us to piss off and leave Imray alone. So we just need to have the same resolve regarding Kone. We simply don’t need to sell him, and clearly having just given him a contract extension, we don’t appear to have any intention of doing so. Silly money may come into it if Luton are desperate enough (which they quite possibly are) but if we don’t have a Kone-quality replacement lined up and ready to go, then “silly money can do one”.
Just needs ‘Alan’ Rice to tell Blooms: “Read the small print on the Kone-tract”.
You make a valid point, but the current squad is already so far beyond what the club can afford I’ve given up thinking about it. It’s the elephant in the room.
Kone is a rare gem in terms of getting fans excited when he plays. His story is wonderful. His demeanour is a joy. He’s just special. They don’t come along that often.
I know he won’t be with us for long but Luton and 6million is not the end I want. We deserve better. He deserves better.
Here we go again. For all the reasons given above, and having lived through the Couhig era, with promotion or another trip to Wembley a possibility, I think it's harsh to suggest Rob C would have sold before the Summer. But we'll never know. What if we don't keep Kone?
Agreed - Kone is far ahead of our other strike options, but Lubala and Udoh are both still very decent 9s, and I think the bigger issue is making sure we are back to providing good service from out wide (especially the left). 10m for Kone, and an attack with Fred/Sadlier/Berry as left options, Udoh/Lubala as strikers and GMac/Kodua/Fred again/Hanlan as wide right options is not the worst thing in the world!
In one way it'd solve the problem with Lubala. That he's too good to just be a bench option, but isn't really best out on the left. And like you say almost a similar situation with Udoh. Both through the middle are good options.
It's not like we've been missing a lot of chances in home games is it? We need to work a way to deal with teams setting up like Northampton did, as our biggest priority.
What a load of nonsense this place is becoming. Why on earth are Bloomfield’s head traumas during his playing days coming into this discussion?! Absolutely irrelevant.
To bring it back to topic... I don't believe that keeping Kone guarantees promotion, but I do believe that selling him at this stage in the window would almost certainly guarantee that we don't get promoted.
I don’t have skin in the game? I’m not all in on Bloomfield or all in on Rice? I’ve barely commented on the whole saga because, quite honestly, I think the entire discussion has been totally embarrassing for all involved. Infantile nonsense.
Even if we do accept a figure for Kone, they still need to agree terms with him AND Kone needs to want to leave.
From his posts online & the impression he gives off, he has a debt here that he wants to pay off for the opportunity we gave him & still wants to learn from those around him

The fact that Luton keep coming back suggests nothing more than that they want him … as do about a dozen clubs!

Divisive?
Toxic?

Their 3m bid has doubled in a week or so.
6m with a week to go of the deadline surely means there's a higher bid coming our way.
So turning this one down is fairly easy - it's what happens at the end of the week that should get us nervous.
He absolutely deserves better. But why do “we” deserve better?
His run down the left wing was something truly special when he came on on Sunday.
I’ve rarely seen a full speed dribble like that round multiple tackles in all my time watching football at all levels.
The final ball was a little short but it was a truly breathtaking display of pace, power and skill.
@TheAndyGrahamFanClub Yes, yes, yes. Sooo yes, to all of that.
At this rate, someone will offer £10 million before Saturday. They won't be rejecting that.
I think a man who went through constant head traumas for a club probably does love it, personally.
Definitely can't be turning 10m down, however giddy some are getting with the owner's personal wealth.
Would be an incredible risk for Luton though, so can't see them going that high.
No no please I beg you, we’ve had a smashing day.

So you think Blooms doesn't love Wycombe?

Jesus
Udoh replaced by Kone or vice versa. Berry pinging the crosses in. Exciting times.

Because we have to hate one or the other of them on every single thread.
This page has definitely slipped back into the stupid after a brief resurgence of sense following the doc's shock outburst.

Reminder the ignore button still exists. Most people still fairly civil, couple of obvious WuMs
Btw are those two eejits who ran Sunderland back in football? Kone could go for £30m.
Imagine making light of injuries which could lead to someone developing dementia later in life
It's a poster who has about 35 posts and almost every one of them is criticising one of our players/manager.

I can promise that the defending Blooms from jibes will stop at the exact same time that jibes towards Blooms stop.
In @drcongo absence, Pack it in! You've made the same point again and again, Move on and bring something new to the conversation!
