Right, what do we think ? Any movement in or out today ? We've got a game tomorrow, it's a busy week ahead. After losing a couple (players) would be a nice little boost to see maybe one in.
I think if we announced a signing from another club today, or a new loan player, it would be a stretch to get him registered and training with the squad in time for the Blackpool game. On the bench at best, maybe.
Would be great to get the players we really want in now, but I'm happy for us to wait until the end of the month if it means us bringing in better quality. Would be daft to rush in replacements for Morley and Taylor only to find out we could bring them back at the end of January. We're top of the league with a strong squad, there's no immediate hurry.
I’m guessing if we have no new fitness issues the current squad will last the best part of the month. Not ideal but doable. Lose Low and then we need to act quickly, lose any more first 11 players then … well let’s cross that bridge
Sadlier and Vokes might be close that’s a factor. Exits being sorted out too.
As windows go it’s about as complex as I can remember
There are threads on both the Birmingham and Wrexham forums where they suggest buying Kone, or just submitting an offer to unsettled him. The entitlement is huge
I've seen a LOT of Birmingham fans suggest that even though Kone isn't good enough for them, they give us 500k (because apparently we'd snatch their hand off for that money) just to stop him playing for us.
In the early '90s, Blackburn bought Duncan Shearer from Swindon, their promotion rivals, and barely played him, I recall. The suggestion being that moneybags Rovers (it was the early Jack Walker days) were simply vandalising Town's team, rather than enhancing their own.
I wouldn't expect us to sell Kone in this window, but I'd not be surprised if he's gone before the end of August.
I'm on the League 1 facebook page and the majority of Birmingham fans who post on there are insufferably arrogant, entitled and disrespectful towards every other club in the division.
Well I see they’ve had to retire the ‘Grim Reaper’ meme as that clearly wasn’t working out for them in terms of ‘pissing the league’.
They then went on to say we’ve had easier games than them, but that’s not gone as we’re exactly halfway.
Apparently we’re now ‘keeping 1st place’ warm for them. They can be quite hard work but having a stealthy eye on their forum, like most teams, they’ve got plenty of decent fans, it’s just a some of their more vocal idiots, are as you say, rather insufferable.
Some Birmingham fan in the pub before the opening home game suggested that ‘it must be better than Christmas that your tiny team get to play the mighty Blues’. I would love to finish above them.
That playoff final win v Oxford was superb just Watching online. Trying not to imagine the scenes and feeling if we go up and we can actually be there.
How long did Sunderland hang around in League one? Not sure if I'd prefer Brum to do that or go up and get hammered every week.
It's been a whole 3 years since we played eachother at the foot of the Championship and doesn't seem that long since the last season we played them in this division (a mere 30).
Fans of bigger clubs so often fail to realise that if we are on the same level despite huge differences in history, fan bas / catchment size and finance that this is not usually a reflection of them having done particularly well.
Spot on this. Fans mocking us with "your stadium could fit inside one of our tiers" while we are fighting around the same places really seem to be missing the point!
Same morons who throw the word 'tinpot' around to mean any club with a smaller fanbase. A word that should earn their club an automatic points deduction every time they use it.

I saw a Barnsley fan suggest a "realistic" window would include getting Kone for 100K. Oh, I needed that belly laugh!
I'm looking at Millwall to be honest

Kone's not going anywhere in January. I'm so sure of it.

We don't know how long the discussions have been going on and if they have been training with the squad before it being made official
Probably some elder statesman who still thinks newspapers are 10p

There's a lot out there of all ages

That's just plain silly that is.
Also it feels a bit insulting to the rest of the squad as it's not like Kone scores 90% of our goals and we're anywhere near a one man team.

What @glasshalffull actually said was that the majority of Birmingham fans who post on the League 1 Facebook page are insufferably arrogant.

Insufferable arrogance.
Hope that becomes the phrase of the season.
I must admit could face coming second to the Hollywood ending if Brum were left in the lottery of the playoffs.
Yep, top 2 to anyone is fine!

Vokesy, what are you playing at man?!
Linked with Aston Villa u21 Centre back Sil Swinkels https://x.com/j_tanswell/status/1875194524504662157?s=46&t=8zJT4a0s9ucJlGRkSs29GQ
Left footed as well which would be a bonus
We can offer something few other clubs can to Villa: The chance to embarrass Birmingham even more!
Louie Barry and King Kone would surely do the business! 😊
