Not sure if we sent Boyes and Phillips back or they were recalled. Must be conversations as January approaches, how is it going, are you developing, are you playing regularly/well, and from our side is it working out, do we have more pressing needs in the same position or elsewhere.
There's a player in there somewhere with Phillips but half a dozen decent games at L1 doesn't guarantee anyone a career. Lots of nearly men.
Yes, talk is unless whoever is in charge of giving the go ahead has a change of heart, Phillips and Fred won't be coming. Seems every party involved wants the deal to happen, except the moneyball men. Perhaps wise, but a little unromantic
When Fred left the last time, the club's statement was amazingly short and to the point wasn't it.
I think someone suggested it was because the office was being cleaned or something, but it smacked of Fred had cheesed the club off a bit with his departure.
I wonder if there's any of that hanging over the situation.
Maybe not though, Fred is peak age, so he might well have higher aspirations still and this was never likely to come to any fruition.
Perhaps someone can ask Dan Rice who is taking questions at the Trust meeting tonight? If you are a Trust member you can attend or join by Zoom. It will be interesting to hear what he’s has to say, as we’ve heard very little from the owners. Unfortunately out tonight. Hopefully someone, perhaps even the club, will communicate his main points.
Different chairman, different director of football, different manager, different squad, different era. In fact the only continuity seems to be the press office - and I imagine that is fully cleaned by now and capable of writing an exuberant 'welcome home' media release if required.
Depends on their wage demands as well, no doubt they'd need to be among our top earners.
I personally think if both are fully fit and wouldn't break our wage structure then I'd take either, but Fred makes more sense financially as he's in his prime years still, if he had a good season and we didn't go up, championship clubs might still pay a fee for him.
Alan Nixon in today's Sun says Wycombe along with Huddersfield and Bolton interested in taking Southampton striker Dom Ballard on loan. He implies Huddersfield are favourites but Bloomfield obviously has a close relationship with Russell Martin.
Will there be an on the pitch announcement tonight regarding one or two new signings ? Maybe Matty Phillips and Tsoungui being announced as our latest recruits.

I think they were recalled as they went straight out on loan to another club and it seems very pre-arranged

I would have thought Bloomers would have been really interested in bringing Fred back if the price was right.
Question - Is Bloomers making the recruitment decisions or is someone else doing that now?

Didn't realize DR was attending this meeting this evening. Very encouraging.
Is there any sign that Blooms isn't make the recruitment decisions? Every new player meets a need and fits into the mould so far.
No sign as yet but just a question.

We’re being linked with a loan move for 21 year-old Feyenoord centre-back Antef Tsoungui.

If my Google Translate skills are any good, we have more than been linked. According to the article we have made a bid to take him on loan.

Ballard's family life in Berkshire too.
And five goals in 12 appearances on loan at Reading last season before getting injured puts him in the 20 a season category.
Any idea what type of striker he is?
Centre Forward
Kone eat your heart out!
He was stretchered off in the game with Reading at Adams Park.
He’d started the season well for them and then didn’t play again.
Don’t remember it being a particularly nasty challenge.
Could be a slight deterrent to joining us on loan!
Junior Doctor!
He captained England U17s.
Ballard was (according to sources) training with Reading a couple of weeks ago. This won’t endear us to our sister club.

From what I remember, watching from the terrace, Ballard appeared to kick the ground and twist his knee.
Matt Phillips supposedly set to join Oxford.
Shame that.
Think I’d rather have Darius Johnson to be honest.
I heard that last Thursday. I thought the chances of him joining us was slim and I’m never really into this signing old players obsession.
Agents Phillips and Ingram may get honourable mentions if the threesiders get hammered every week. Which would be an awful shame....
