With a certain Captain Hindsight rampaging through the forum telling everyone what a mistake it was to accept the Couhig's bid, its worth noting that the big consortium of former players led by Bergkamp never popped up at another club after being rejected by WWFC.
To me, this is justification that the Trust were right to reject their offer for not being serious. If they were serious about buying a club, they surely would have done so in the years following?
"Captain Hindsight", that did make me chuckle. A sobriquet that could I think equally be applied to leader of the Labour party at the moment.
However, we all know what a wonderful thing hindsight is. If only I used these numbers on Tues 1 November, I could have trousered £122,547,643 and the Couhigs could then do one.
You buy the club. First signing....Ronaldo. You replace the bus from the station wit a fleet of helicopters. 2025 and 'little Wycombe' really are a worldwide phenomenon as they make their Premiership debut. But £122 million is less than Forest have spent this season and look where they are. HomerLone Out banners start appearing at every game.
I was going to say landing a helicopter at AP might be tricky, given the overhead power lines. Then I remembered the alternative ground location - The Hayes Wasps Bookerdrome
The enthusiasm about the worldwide phenomenon has definitely dwindled this season. Rob seems to have lost his drive already which is worrying. I wish he'd make a statement to say he's committed unless it's a ploy to make us all worried that he will jump ship.
Bayo was always going to be impossible to replace and the Worldwide Wycombe brand was going to be difficult to build with no enormous personality on and off the pitch. But also lets face it people are attracted to success. And this season has not been that. Yeah yeah five points blah blah blah but that sequence of home games was not only only a poor series of results it was turgid football and I would not get up in a different time zone to see that.
I don’t know about a worldwide phenomenon but I think the work to get us a little more international recognition has been a modest and welcome success . The Spanish guys we had over last season are one of my highlights of the last few years .
I never thought I'd see the day that fans across Europe, USA and Mexico, to name but three, would be supporting Wycombe and following our results. Sometimes even coming to games.
They were brilliant and certainly added to the game at AP and Wembley.
The club/Trust should be arranging a tour to a couple of clubs in northern Spain in July. Lots of Segunda Division teams in Northern Spain around Bilbao, too hot for central or southern Spain in July.

The Trust did not reject the Dutch offer, they accepted it and rejected the Couhigs’ offer.
Once they realised their mistake, The Trust had to call the Couhigs back in order to meet monthly payments.
So it wasn't a mistake accepting the Couhigs offer?

Thank you for clearing that up @ReturnToSenda
You are def strapping the barrel (literally and figuratively) if you are going there for an evening, best stick to the other 2 pubs in the village!

Be careful what you wish for.
God bless you Captain Hindsight.
Everything anyone running our club has ever done is a mistake in Carrots world.
WGH is falling down, come on Bobby build a ground on a viable site.
Ronaldo, possibly, but a fleet of helicopters?? Where could they land a helicopter near the station?
I was actually trying to be Colonel Foresight, in the event RC wants out!
Booker 🤣
The total valid votes cast in the room and online were 473

Apologies if someone else has posted the results

The air ambulance has managed it before
If you watch the Bayo documentary you'll see him picked up from the Adams Park pitch in a helicopter as well
Although if you were there you would have seen the helicopter circle and land again (although the cameras had stopped rolling by then)!

You always did wonder how many of the "worldwide" fan base was the vpn gang.
And how much appeal we lost abroad when bayo left.

Wasn't someone employed with their sole focus being the worldwide phenomenon?
Yeah, Harry Gadd - although it turns out he left that role a year ago and is now Commercial Manager. Looks like they got rid of the WWWP role.
Hope he is no relation to Paul, he is quite a different kind of phenomenon ?
Harry is a top bloke who appears to work really hard with limited resources to increase off field revenues for the club.
Great to hear!

It's been an unbelievable success hasn't it?

It's remarkable.
Saw this under his previous role
"Responsible for driving the growth of the Worldwide Wycombe Wanderers Phenomenon"
Imagine having to repeatedly say that phrase and have to keep a straight face.
They were brilliant and certainly added to the game at AP and Wembley.
